There is a apple guarde product specifically made for suede and nubuck, you may want to check that out :)

would it be possible to buy apple garde in a store (preferably one they would have in L.A.) or just online?

you can see all the places that carry it on their site:

Paint on LV monogram canvas?

Bonjour everyone,

My mom is a vuitton nut and always buys and buys and buys. When the old stuff get too old for her taste, she hands them down to me.
Her latest donation (after a sweet rejuvenated Alma) (they "rejuvenate" your oldies at the Paris store) is a porte tresor wallet that looks wayyyy to old, to the extent that you can barely see the monogram (it's very dark). Since I don't really feel "vuitton" is all that sacred and since that wallet is probably older than I am, I have no problem with painting over it (I feel like painting some gold tones over the monogram), otherwise it will just sit in a drawer and rot for eternity.
I wanted to know if others among you have done similar stuff to old vuitton or if I am committing an act of heresy.

yikes! Dont do that! If you take it to the LV store they can repair it for you :D Dont destroy it by doing that though!

Just thought I'd share something that happened to my aunt a few months ago...

She and I were searching our mall for a new purse for her. We finally found a perfect, beautiful brown nubuck handbag (and it was the last one left), but there was a stain about the size of a dime on the bottom. So we took it to the nearest SA, a little old lady who was sitting by a cash register. She looked at it and then proclaimed she would have it "good as new" in a second. She whipped out a bottle of some leather cleaner and began scrubbing it into the stain... Five minutes passed and the area a size of a fist was now stained darker. It had a strange texture, too. My aunt and I were like  . My aunt said that it didn't seem to be helping, so we left. The little old lady was still scrubbing a stain that covered half of the bag as we walked away.

The lesson here? Be careful what you use on nubuck.

...express your creativity...graffiti it up... ;)

I have a fendi spy and use apple gaurd spray on it...it works well bc the leather is unfinished and etc....

...but I just bought a YSL muse in white...and it has more of a finished leather, etc etc...more shine

does anyone have any recommendations? I am thinking since there is a shine to it...that spraying the stuff would just wipe off...and maybe just keep cleaner handy for any accidents?

any advice?

^ I sprayed mine, but it didn't seam like a lot of it absorbed. May still help though.

I was wondering, how do you all store your bags?

I have very little room, 3 tiny closets. Since my brother moved out I've moved into his room and we've been planning on making my old room into a closet but we're prabably not going to get to it until the summer. Until then, I just cover the closet floor with dustbags and set all my bags down. I stuff them lightly so they keep their shape but not to the point that the leather sctreches.

Does anyone have any bag storing tips?

Dustbag, stuff with a non-acid paper (artist's newsprint works great), try to shape the bag inside the dustbag as you'd want the bag to sit on a table... sometimes if the bag sits for a while... the handle can get a little deformed if you don't arrange it the right way. I dunno.. there's no real science to store your bags... I dont have much room either, so I just use my closet top shelves to store my bags.

i wouldn't paint on it if i were you! if you use acrylic paint, it will peel off and enamel paint with make the vinyl disinigrate....i think i'd either list it on ebay and get some $$ for something you'd like to buy OR im always open to LV donations:p hahahahhaha

Yea, I can't reach my top shelves either. I"m only like 5'1".... I have to use a stool, and even then, I can only reach the second highest shelf... my top top shelf is empty! ... Vertically challenged.

handbag restoration services?

Has anyone here ever sent their bag to a service to have the leather restored? I just won a Marc Jacobs camel calf leather hobo on ebay that has some scuffs (which were shown in the auction). There is one scuff in particular that is worse than I thought from auction photos, which has actually damaged the surface of the leather in a small area. It really isn't that bad but because I love the size, style, color, and leather of the bag I can't help but want it to be perfect and may be willing to invest in repair. A google search turns up artbag.com among other services. If anyone has had a service repair the leather on their bag, I'd really appreciate hearing your experience. Thanks.

I used Lexol leather cleaner (the very same cleaner i use on my porsche leather seats) on my crusty balenciaga and chanel white leather bag and it looks brand new!

You have to follow the instructions clearly! Have 2 damp clothes around. One is to apply on the solution til it gets foamy and the other damp cloth is to wipe it away.
I dont advise using it on purses that are made of lambskin like Chanel.
