Tokyo shopping

that thick striped yukata on the oji-san is bloody beautiful!!!

for more yukata (used, retro, cheap) theres a small store on omotesando on the left, just a little past meiji-dori next to the shiseido store i believe. ive never been in i wish i had the name, but its pretty well known. theres also used cool yukata for sale in shops in shimokitazawa...wish i knew more, but i personally find yukata to be too HOT to wear in the summer! :innocent:

as for BAPE... man, what a crazy empire.. i dont see as many people wearing it in tokyo anymore...lots of people from the country come in to buy it on the weekends tho... and they have a salon called BAPE CUTS... i hardly ever see it open or anyone inside...

thanks everyone for your responses! :)

mishahoi: was the omotesando place called chicago or kawano gallery? those two names keep popping up when i do research on kimonos and yukatas.

adam et rope Shibuya

Shibuya-ku, Udagawacho 13-16

this store as well as beams used to sell CCP at the best price although they stopped carrying it.
I don't think all they buy is good.
but you can check LUC, casey vidalenc, etc there now.
also you may find some interesting new labels every season.
it has just refurbished.

they have another store in Shirokanedai btw
nice and quiet space.

Do anybody know a shop called Factory in Shibuya ? and what do they carry ?

is there a factory in shibuya? theres one in harajuku-just off of cat street. last i was in they had a lot of bruno pieters but i dont know what theyve got this season...

you are welcome boxma
you mean stores carrying Julius which are located in Shibuya/Harajuku area?
I don't know any of them, sorry
although there are many stores carrying julius all over Japan.
but when you are in that area, you can go on foot to Daikanyama.
I'd definitely like to walk if the weather is fine.
Tokyo subway/railway network is useful.
but it sometimes makes it inconvenient,
even makes you tired and gives a wrong impression of relative locations of respective areas.
I'd say it's good to get a map and walk around there.

thanks Runner for the info. I am now planning for my 3 days trip in Tokyo.

Any cheap thrills to be had in Tokyo? :ermm:
I'm going there in a week, and I'm quite constrained by my £80-100 budget.
If it's possible, please could you guys give me some suggestions of shops which are about the laid-back loose layering & draping avant-garde understated look like the style of Shibuya, rather than say, Harajuku?
From reading online street style websites, I find that people who dress in this manner mostly shop in Shibuya, so maybe that could be my starting point?

I cannot seem to be of any help Hye Park Lover
sorry
but shops are everywhere there.
so I guess you can discover your favorites as you go.
the district called Shibuya which is famous for fashion is not around Shibuya Station.
mostly it covers vaguely wide area towards Harajuku.
if you don't have enough time, all in one places like Parco have lots of corner stores in it. there are various kinds of stores there. you might find something.

munoz vrandecic by Miguel Munoz Willson and Damarise Vrandecic just did a capsule collection for men and women. footwear, bags, jewelry, etc
there is a pair of interesting boots.
and they will present it at lift etage
November 3-9

That is quite useful runner, thanks :flower:
I think that is the best advice, to just go and explore. I'm sure I'll wonder into many shops with unique stuff that only Tokyo can offer.

you're welcome Hye Park Lover
we can take a general view around Shibuya - Harajuku and get an idea of general directions studded with stores, if you are interested.
it would be better than exploring at random.
there is a window saying "表示エリア変更", the second window from top right.
of it, choose "渋谷 (JR渋谷駅)", the third from the top.
then there appeares a map with famous stores data, printable and magnifiable.
dragging up from Shibuya Station leads to Harajuku.
we can see what it's like on the whole.
