That's weird that Paramount's excuse for dropping him is because of his crazy antics. I mean, I know they're weird and all, but the man does bring in money and he certainly knows how to attract the media. I understand the company dropping him because of company negotiation issues or whatever but ya know, actors have done worse (criminal issues) and not been dropped by a production company.

VainJane, I think a lot of it is preemptive - when about half of people surveyed by the studio see Cruise in an "unfavorable" light, it won't be long until he starts costing them money. Especially if he keeps going the way he's been going.

I totally don't buy the 'You can't break up with me! I'm breaking up with you!' line from Tom's camp. Hedge funds over Paramount backing? Give me a break. It's a terrible, and extremely risky, financial turn of events for him.

I heard that he is starting to lose Paramount money. The films aren't making enough of a profit because he's such an expensive actor (or something along those lines). While his box office sales are still really good, the cost of his movies is getting really high.
