it's funny to me that a lot of fashionistas will resist something BECAUSE it's trendy...i thought the whole point was to be individual regardless of if it's in or out...
i know, you are right mike, but i confess i do this, somehow
i simply can't resist my snobism, if it's out there 'en masse' even if i like it
i'll keep away ...
i cannot explain it, i get really annoyed wearing 'trendy' things
i dont really mind other people sporting 'item of the month/season' but not me,
never..
i hope you don't hate me for this [/b][/quote]
i am exactly the same way. at our mall we have a lot of trendy teenager stores, aka abercrombie & fitch, american eagle, gap, guess, tommy hilfiger... etc.
but you cant buy anything at any of the stores and wear it to school without seeing at least 5 other people wearing it the same day. its horrible! granted my school is huge and has a grand total of 6500 students, but still. individuality is hard to come by when shopping at our mall.
instead i usually just buy plain tee's and mix them with other pieces. or buy the "trendy" piece of the moment and drastically change it with my sewing machine and other little extras to make it my own.
but goddd, i hate the feeling of wearing the same outfit as someone else. sorry if it sounds snobbish
