UK Vogue April 2020 : Jodie Comer by Steven Meisel

I’ll echo everyone’s sentiments, here...it is a great cover.

If Edward were smart, he’d use these vintage Vogue inspired portrait covers by Meisel for every issue, instead of interspersing them here and there. They’re the strongest of his covers and since his debut issue, they’re the only memorable ones in my mind. He might as well make them the signature of his editorship.

The Jodie editorial is standard fare Meisel, but not bad.

Couldn't care less about the other editorials.

Really strong issue, content of quality and substance. Nothing outstanding but miles and miles above most issues this month.

I love the Sims ed, very artsy, which I did not expect at all. Binx is mostly blah but that shot in the green dress is very good. Jodie should be a Meisel muse, this is their second collaboration and it's just as good as her Loewe campaign. Loving Simone's feauture, was there a written piece too? Could someone upload it?

I thought they cancelled Terry Richardson and I wouldn’t have to see those ugly flashy photographs anymore. But no there are still the clones.

Seeing the scans on the forum, it looks like the issue is packed with blurred nonsense. However, seeing the issue for real - and the pages in their proper series - the impression is one of a magazine filled with more colour and life than usual. This is probably the one issue I'd want to keep around.

While (still) waiting for my subscription issue, I didn't see this on special offer in either Sainsbury's or Tescos, so I haven't succumbed to a newsstand purchase yet. It's not like I live in the UK or anything... I've come to terms with the idea that UK Vogue's output is as important as the delayed time it takes to send the magazine out to me. They also still send letters out to me every few months asking me to subscribe, even though I already am.

Can someone please explain to me what the appeal of Binx is? Every time she has work released people go crazy for her, but I just don’t see it. All she does is stand there with absolutely no expression on her face. Like in everything... am I missing something?
That’s her magic...Doing nothing, standing, looking slightly bored and unbothered. She is the best at it! Then, she hits the runway and is a great walker.

I think her work for Celine has kinda determined the aesthetic photographers uses for her.

Binx looks so unbothered is kind of iconic at this point, it's her trademark for sure. I echoed everyone else's sentiments on her last shot, it's really stunning even if she doesn't do much. Jodie has the face of a supermodel, I fricking love that shot of hers lying on her sideways, very 80s Avedon

Obviously received the double denim cover via my subscription, but didn't hesitate to grab myself a newsstand copy over the weekend. The newsstand cover is just as flawless in person, as it suggests online. Jodie's editorial is also a total delight, a feast for the eyes and pure fashion heaven.

Whether this issue was priced at £2, £4 or £8 - that newsstand cover MINE!

The cover is like my mind mashed up these images and gave me the final glorious image.
