UK Vogue November 2009 : Georgia May Jagger by Mario Testino

Lara Stone, Lara Stone, Lara Stone, blah blah blah blah.

What exactly is Georgia supposed to do? Shave her head and go in for cosmetic dentistry all because she just so happens to look like a model who is already around? Lots of models look a like - Eniko looks like if Daria shoved acorns into her cheeks for goodness sakes. I'm actually quite pleased that this isn't Lara - she's been everywhere lately, nice to see someone new getting a cover.

cover is by mario Testino as well as the editorial inside feaut. her

info-ebay. cant recall sellers name, sorry

The lettering on the cover is neon orange in print, it's so painful to look at.
Georgia wears an ASOS dress, shot by Testino.

Inside is..

Make Do And Mend - Malgosia by Tim Walker
Style Hunter - Carmen Kass by Testino
Dash Cash Heroines - Alice Dellal, Daisy Lowe etc by Willy V
Jagger's Edge - Georgia by Testino
Street Style, chosen by Christopher Kane, Phillip Lim and the Mulleavy sisters.
Greatest Hits - Caroline T by Kai Z Feng
Future Beauty - Anna J by Josh Olins

Quite a packed issue. Georgia's ed isn't half bad, I think they could have done better with the cover. And whoever it is at UK Vogue that loves neon needs to be sacked.

I'm sick to death of hearing and seeing Alice Dellal, Daisy Lowe and the rest of the gang. :ninja:
Carmen, Caroline, Anna J and Malgosia make up for it though. But I usually dislike Tim Walker's work, so I don't have high expectations to like Malgosia's editorial.
Thanks McQueezy!

It's a nice cover. Love the strong colours. Hope Lara will get a Vogue UK cover soon.

I'm very excited by the contents. Especially Carmen by Testino :buzz:

^It's very Testino, in a studio with coloured lights, bright mish-mash styling, tanned skin.
It's not really my cup of tea but it's not bad.
I forgot to mention that every ed is shot in a studio.

I am OVER-JOYED to see Georgia May on the cover of U.K. Vogue. The second I saw her in VR months ago I knew she was more than just another celebrity spawn trying to model. This girl actually has potential! I am getting sick and tired of the Lara Stone comparisons; it's not her fault if she also happens to have blonde hair and a gap in her teeth! Plus, her eyes give her a MUCH more different look than Lara. Georgia May's face is more vulnerable and sweet than Lara's, and her chest is DEFINITELY not as ample, causing her to have an innocent yet precocious girlishness that is more Lolita than Seventies p*rn star. I will admit, though, that it seems that all of the magazines that use Georgia May all depict her in what has become Lara's signature look (pouted, cherry red lips, blown out blonde hair, dark eye-liner, and exposed decolletage). Also, does anyone think that this shot is sort of reminiscent to the Demarchelier VP shots of Georgia May from the August issue? The styling, particularly the layered jewelery and zebra-print, seems like a direct copy. Still I am more than happy to see Georgia May on this cover of U.K. Vogue , a magazine which can benefit from a bit of rock and roll youth and sexiness. This is MAJOR for her and I hope it leads to bigger and betters things. I hope that she is able to transcend her roots as just being the daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall and editors embrace her as a serious model with talent. Though she works the rock look well, I'd like to see her portrayed in a different light. Here's to Georgia May's bright future!

That's right.

Oh yes! Finally, one of those fairy tale things has come true - Mick Jagger's mouth and eyes with Jerry Hall's hair, cheeks and teeth on the cover of British Vogue  And still, she has a vibe that is completely her own as well....she's just lovely.

As for the Lara comparisons, it drives me up the walls....her eyes are completely different. Lara's Brigitte schtick wasn't hers in the first place, so get off it :furious: Not that I don't love Lara....but please, it's enough, and shows a very limited reference framework, come to think of it....

THANK YOU.

The cover is SO BAD irl. Georgia's hair looks yellow, and the blue & yellow eyeshadow just doesn't work. I'm wincing just looking at it tbh.

There isn't really a stand out editorial either. Carmen looks sunburnt in her editorial (probably from the brightness of the cover), Malgosia's is just standard Tim Walker.

Oh and Cory Kennedy in UK Vogue? I really expected more from them tbh.

Oh dear...luckily there are other magazines around :D
