US Vogue July 2005 : Kate Winslet by Mario Testino

It's 19th June. The cover should be known... Maybe somebody has some informations????

em692 - what's on your avatar? It's gorgeous.

As far as the July issue goes - it's getting all mysterious...are they going to be as late as Vogue IT?

ah, i can never wait to see a new cover, only to be disappointed again it's not a model.....

the last two covers of vogue was great i hope they continue there covers well

Vogue US July 2005

Kate Winslet Cover wearing Louis Vuitton cerulean silk dress with embroidered collar
notable ads:
Chanel sunglasses (Luca)
Dior (Riley Keough)
De Beers with Lily Cole
1 page Jacquetta Wheeler Lauren Ralph Lauren
Back cover: Carolyn Murphy for pleasure exotic (Estee Lauder)

Editorials:
10 pages. Caroline Trentini in "the perfect ten" (Caroline looks extremely like Natalia Vodianova through out this shoot. in the way she poses, the expression she does with her face, and the hair and makeup it was put on her.)
20 pages. Then, next comes a true editorial "That's amore" with Natalia Vodianova. Natalia looks like a princess in the sun. I thought i was sick of Natalia but she truly looks amazing in this shoot! :flower:
6 pages. "Strike it rich" with Czech-tall-girl-in-bloom Hana Soukupova. Hanka might be skinny and 6'2, but she really seems to pull it off in this editorial. Her face just seems to shine through in every photo. Photos by Patrick Demarchelier.

My Verdict: despite this incredibly THIN issue, the editorials are quite amazing, esp the 5 pictures of Hanka (1 pic is just her leg) and the 20 page editorial with Natalia. If you are a Natalia and Hanka fan, you MUST take this home!

oh thanks for the info tortoise! altho i wish more models were featured on the covers of american vogue, i do love kate winslet. plus natalia is my favorite high fashion model! so i'm happy :D

Can't wait to see Hana's edit. Her and Patrick Demarchelier should be a perfect match (even though Hana is a great match with most photographers). He lets his models shine and brings forth the natural beauty.

Who shot the CT and NV eds? 20 pages of Natalia - she's a real superstar with 20 page eds in Vogue Italia, Vogue Paris and US Vogue. She just wont stop :P

Thanks for the review do you e info of the photographer of this issue especiality the editorial of Natalia Vodianova thanks in advance:flower:

u guys are welcome! :flower: and sorry i forgot to put photographer info for the Caroline and Natalia editorials.

"the perfect ten" Caroline Trentini is shot by Steven Meisel. that explains why Caroline looks so much like Natalia. and the shot is taken in a studio. quite boring. but well... (fashion editor: Tonne Goodman)

"That's amore" 20 page fully clothed Natalia Vodianova shot in Venice by Mario Testino (Testino fan's fav :flower: Sorry forgot to mention him in first post!). it's a more than beautiful editorial and i'm glad to see a less-racy Natalia. can't stand some of her p*rn*gr*ph*c photos! and Natalia's class, grace and sophistication is definitely back for this editorial. except in one particular photos, she looks like a cute art student with a Prada crocheted beanie talking to the birds. that is definitely very cute and i'm glad to see that :crush: innocence back, instead of the racy side! :o (Fashion editor: Grace Coddington)

Kate Winslet shot by Mario Testino. Fashion editor: Tonne Goodman (seems to be a rising star for Vogue US?!? or have i been hiding in a cave that i don't know him? is he famous?) Kate has 4 photos in this issue. IMHO, i think she looks quite bored in the shoot with her emotionless expressions. but i guess that's what most Hollywood actress do when they are in Vogue? She looks the best in the black and white close up photo and the photo of her stepping out of the car is very glam too!

"Strike it rich" with Czech-tall-girl-in-bloom Hana Soukupova! How much do i love Hana in this shoot? it's great to see a refreshed Hana. I've been seeing Hana backstage so tired that it's not even funny and it's great to see her so looking so refreshed with that little twinkle in her eye! Photos by Patrick Demarchelier! Fashion editor: Elissa Santisi. Look 1) Hana wears a hat and the black and white stripped jumper from Dior AW RTW 05. Look 2) Hana looking super sophisticated, with wavy hair a Prada camel coat and a Prada marigold handbag. Love her hair! Look 3) Hana wears Proenza Schouler bustier dress with pale pink Satin belt and Calvin Klein flat boot in a matching color. Hanka looks so sexy with her bare shoulders and hair just covering one eye. Look 3) Hanka wears a chunky Louis Vuitton necklace with labradorite stones and a Marc Jacobs cream cashmere turtleneck looking sophisticated. No smiling in this pic.

But i've just realized something, Hanka has her mouth open in every pic? Does she have something with opening her mouth and taking pictures?

and yes, i must agree, they should put more models in US Vogue! and this is such a thin issue, if Hanka and Natalia are not in it, i'll probably go nuts!!!

Thanks die for look the editorial of Natalia Vodianova by Mario Testino:woot: thankssss for the info

my 2 cents on vogue...

for a typically thin issue, there's alot packed in here...

"the perfect ten" by steven meisel, styled by tonne goodman is a coming out party of sorts for caroline trentini...i've never been a fan of hers, but she looks amazing in this ed. some of the poses/expressions are reminiscent of gemma/natalia, but that's good in a way. i didn't think caroline had it in her.

she wears:

00010f.jpg
00180f.jpg

balenciaga (also worn by eugenia in july's bazaar), ralph lauren

00440f.jpg
00320f.jpg

lanvin, prada

00440f.jpg
00240f.jpg

oscar de la renta, gaultier

00090f.jpg
00330f.jpg

donna karan's blouse in white, proenza shouler

00140f.jpg
00020f.jpg

fendi's fur coat, gucci

"That's Amore" by Mario Testino, styled by Grace Coddington has Natalia on holiday in venice, being the beautiful young thing she is, except i've seen this before...the ed she did with mert & marcus (i think). i love natalia, but it would have been nice to see someone else play this role for a change.

she wears:
00150f.jpg
00340f.jpg

two outfits from balenciaga

00300f.jpg
00380f.jpg

two outfits from prada

00210f.jpg
00440f.jpg

narciso rodriguez's trench w/ysl pleat trim dress

00390f.jpg
00590f.jpg

2 outfits from marc jacobs

00390f.jpg
00190f.jpg

carolina herrera, comme des garcons

plus rochas, calvin klein, ralph lauren (similar suit to the one caroline wore), vera wang, lanvin and a dolce & gabbana coat.

"the real deal" by mario testino is the piece on kate winslet, arguably the best celebrity profile in a us vogue in ages. the pics are beautiful (she wears michael kors, narciso, ysl) and the interview is smart and entertaining.

"hate it, love it" by sarah mower focuses on the clothes we initially hated (the grunge collection, mcqueen's bumsters, prada's geek chic, yohji yamamoto, etc.) that have become fashion icons. accompanied by an irving penn portrait of lisa cant in marc jacobs "addams family" dress, soon to be included in this group, the author thinks.

"strike it rich" by patrick demarchelier has hana showing off the best fall accessories. rather ordinary studio shots and she does have her mouth open in almost every one!

other highlights of this issue:

boys of the moment jack mccollough and lazaro hernandez with their ever-growing flock (including gemma, amber, victoria and vanessa traina, and alexandra kerry)

profiles of azzaro designer vanessa seward and the resurgance of aquascutum

"catch the wave" : surfing is the new yoga (accompanied by a great shot of carolyn murphy on the beach)

"having a ball" by william norwich on the met costume gala...another pic of lily donaldson in chanel (probably taken from last month's shoot?) and pics of partygoers...the usual suspects.

life with andre is on his continuing battle to lose weight and his attendance at oprah's legends weekend.

index: what to buy now, the bargain edition (with pieces from bebe, rebecca taylor, bcbg and a.p.c.)

last look: ghesquiere's rediscovery of the balenciaga rhinestone bow bracelet, now being used as an ankle strap (in fushia suede:(

verdict it's a toss up as to which mag is better, vogue or bazaar, which is something i haven't been able to say in a long time. i would give a slight edge to bazaar, who had more eds, but the quality of the models is higher here. caroline and natalia really shine.

Thanks kimair, sounds like a pretty good issue for Vogue...definitly can't wait to get my hands on it.

Thanks guys, sounds promising. Can't wait to see that Comme dress on location...:innocent:
