you might want to check the individual model threads in supporting cast...sometimes pics are posted there...

and please watch your language...:flower:

oh no, dont like the cover , the layout, nothing.. maybe it will be ok to browse but the cover is boring me...
thanks for all the feedback guys :flower:

I like the cover and the Hana ed was rather good, but not exceptional. Caroline T's ed was stiff and boring and Natalia's was also really boring (1 good shot).

This was a severe disappointment :yuk:

I like the cover but not going to buy it... but my hopes are high that they will use models on the cover of september issue, but it's bit early for that.

i haven't yet been able to buy it, but i found these pics of kate.....i think they are just gorgeous!

info-

tortoise- tonne goodman is a woman who has been working at vogue quite a while. I will try to find more bio info but she is definitely an anna wintour soldier since the 90s at least.

kim- yes the natalia edit is strangely similar, as you say, to the mert/marcus one a year/18 months ago. as i recall that was set in Rome, which i preferred as a slightly less cliche scenario than venice, in the production of the images & how the backgrounds were utilized, I felt. imo the m/m edit was far better than testino's. not that mario's is bad by any means, but its a little flat to me and i LOVE natalia's sensuous side [W swim edit, recent italian & paris vogue natalia shoots] and i found her a bit hollow and stiff via testino despite glorious setting & some elegant clothes.

libertyrose- as many times I agree with you. this vogue is actually a pretty average, non-news-y, to unexciting issue, despite the surface level appearance of quality models settings & clothes. I agree its underwhelming and ho-hum, and i put it away for 2 weeks after first breezing through it & yawning.

:nuke:

kristi_evert, thank you for that! :flower: I'll definitely look out for Tonne Goodman in style.com's party pics! She seems like she's working pretty hard!

Just wondering if anyone thought André Leon's article on weight lost focused too much on Oprah?

ALT, oprah & plum

the way Id put it is, ALT has a few stock themes:
1) himself.
2) kissing up to famous designers or stars.
3) stars or designers who kiss up to him.
4) and then his criticizing stars or designers who didnt kiss up to him enough.

july gave us
1) ALT's weight loss program [2nd or 3rd article in this theme].
2) ALT loves Oprah. [covers an event. award winners, Oprah's gifts/generosity].

it was simply ALT intertwining his own diet-self absorption;
with this month's star celeb- Oprah.
it was an average to below average ALT report, and I saw the issue overall in similar terms.

did you read plum sykes' paris lingerie/wedding night 'set' column?
that was much funnier & more interteresting & Im tempted to pull a few quotes from her piece. in the past the 'bergdorf blondes' author made herself a big target due to her insipid, materialistic concerns & untutored journalism.
but this month plum laughs at the antiquated conventions of wedding night lingerie in an effective consumerist & travel piece.

kristi_evert, yes, i agree with you. It was actually my first time reading the whole of US Vogue and i find André's article pretty... tabloid magazine! I've always thought he would write better because he's been working for US Vogue for so long! I just thought he could focus more on how hard he worked to lose that weight and how much anxiety and how much he daydreamt about food or something on the line instead of that vanity.

and yes, i did read Plum Sykes' "$900 bra" lingerie story and i really enjoyed it and i learnt a few things or two. :flower: that was great!

Generally, i thought the articles in Vogue are pretty average to below. The only articles i liked were Plum's story, Abigail Walch "catch the waves" story on surfing (note to self: must start surfing! ), Sarah Mower's "hate it, love it" article, which might influence me to try those Josephine dresses right now!

I actually really enjoyed this issue. I adore Kate Winslet, and I liked her pictures and found her interview very interesting. Wow, I didn't even recognize Caroline in that editorial, but she looks great. I didn't know her waist and legs were that tiny. I love Hana, but her editorial was average. The Natalia spread was pretty nice, and I especially liked the two pictures of her wearing Marc Jacobs. Plum's writing was not as annoying as usual in this issue, and was actually kind of interesting. Lastly, I thought the "Love It, Hate It" article was quite a good read.

I really did not like Natalia's editorial. I also found it to be reaaaaally boring, iluvjeisa.

^Thank you for posting all the pictures, kimair.

And on the article about whats-her-name, the illegitamate daughter of the former French president... I looked at this thinking it would be an interesting article, but ended up rather disappointed. The article seemed boring to me, and after I read it I immediately forgot pretty much everything I read.
