I love "The line of Beauty", it´s very plain but it showcases the clothes in a great way :)
There´s something weird in Caroline´s body proportions, it´s freaking me out... don´t know if it´s the clothes or the poses, either way I don´t like it :(
Karlie´s pic is just

Thanks for sharing!

^Is that a joke? Did they just ask Ellen's wife to send them an iPhone photo of DeGeneres because they wouldn't have time to do a shoot with her?

It seems they at least got Hamish to take the photo himself!

ellen degeneres is almost at Oprah level here in the US - so she can basically wear whatever she wants and go make-up free and get away with it. people admire her. i like the fact that she promotes cover girl and doesnt feel the need to wear it all the time - it's refreshing.

her W March 2007 cover by Michael Thompson was a VERY different look for her - lots of makeup etc.

i don't watch her show but i really want her home and clothing line to do well.

^ So true, what a ridiculous comment to make! And to call her a "gold digger" when she has been a regular on tons of covers prior to dating Arnault. But what i most resent, and find double as disgusting is when i see fellow women making these kind of accusations.

Vodianova has a career in Fashion because she is a good model, and worked hard at it for many years, not because of who she is sleeping with!

 Thank you!
People should be ashamed for making such disgusting ignorant comments. Natalia looks stunning as always, but I hate the over saturation of the cover. The edited version elastica posted was muuuuch better.

^Because Natalia is a woman, we as women are not allowed in any way, shape or form to question why she was chosen to be the cover model?

:rolleyes::rolleyes:
To imply that Natalia was chosen because of her current relationship is ignorant. To call her a gold-digger/wh*re/whatever else words were used in this thread and to see these comments coming from women is just disgusting.

^Sorry if I came across as too harsh. I can only speak for myself, but I don't think anyone here tries to suggest that Natalia would REALLY be somesort of gold-digger.

But I still maintain Wintour wants her cover subjects sell magazines just by their names (unlike, say Vogue Italia that seems to rely on just selling based on that it's vogue).
An industry icon with no sellable story won't get a single Vogue USA cover. (for example, why would the general american woman be interested in Raquel Zimmermann? She is a successful model living an ordinary life (I think, I don't know anything about Zimmermann's life).

Natalia has a fairytale to sell. Everyone wants to read (and live) from rags to riches story, completed with beautiful kids and a handsome hubby.

^ Well yeah, Anna wants magazines to sell because of a name (if she didn't she'd still be putting unknown models on the cover). However, people are specifically calling Natalia a gold-digging wh*re and saying that she literally only got the cover because of Antoine Arnault. And if that's the case... so what? It completely ignores the fact that Natalia has had a decade-long career as a model. She's not Suki Waterhouse.

Again, no one's calling Benjamin Millepied a "gold digger" or a "wh*re" for being in the magazine basically because he's Natalie Portman's husband. There is no way in hell he would be in a Vogue US editorial with Natalia Vodianova if he wasn't married to her, regardless of his position with the Paris Opera Ballet. (Hell, wasn't there some controversy around the time Black Swan was released that he left his current girlfriend (some ballerina) for Natalie? Talk about an upgrade.).

If we're going to take down women for being "gold digging whores" we might as well take the men down too.

are we discussing the cover or the editorial? cause Natalia's on the cover with her name on it, not Millepied. And of course we'd be talking about him if it wasnt for the fact that he's not on the cover, we could argue that he got his job because of nepotism in the first place but this story is a bit more than just himself, isnt it?
Because it's a fashion mag (and not Vanity Fair) they needed a model on the cover. I personally was arguing that she got it because of nepotism, same way she got VP cover wearing Louis Vuitton (coincidence? And she only got the cover with no editorial, which is weird). Same way she got a cover and article on Vanity Fair to talk about her personal life, her love life included.
She hasnt been working lately as much so one would think that a very coveted cover as US Vogue's will come her way because of her work alone. If getting a cover is based on merit then where is Karlie Kloss solo cover, this story would have been perfect for her since she used to dance, right? where's Carol Trentini cover? or any other girl working her a$$ off atm... This mag doesn't hand covers to models anymore so is it crazy to think there's something else going on? I condemned name calling because of sport but how many similar discussions have we had regarding celebs?
I get the feeling that Natalia is being groomed to be seen as a celebrity or socialite, why else would her name be on the cover? they never do that with a 'regular' model.

Also, can a New Yorker tell me what's so 4th street in the "Positively 4th Street" editorial? Thanks in advance.
Not a New Yorker but here (), the styling's supposed to convey New York in those years I guess, even though that song is mid 60s and not 70s, and god, 10 years later, still not sold on Caroline's stories in Vogue.

totally forgot about that. Karlie would have been PERFECT for this shoot! she uses her body like a dancer when she models. all graceful long limbs and strong poses. i think Natalia looks fine here and i definitely don't get all the hate thrown her way in this thread. i'm genuinely surprised, actually, because i always think of Natalia as being an untouchable fashion darling - not to the public, obviously, but specifically to the people who would be posting in this forum.

but yes, Karlie would have energized the ballet couture editorial in a totally different, and much more thrilling - imo - manner.

plus, it would have been really fresh and exciting to see America's biggest current supermodel land a solo Vogue US cover.

Okay but, that wasn't really my point. I don't really care about what she's wearing or if she has makeup on or not. It's just that the photo itself, is not something I'd expect to illustrate an article in a magazine. Indeed, it looks like it was taken with an iPhone, by a family member.

I can't believe is the 2nd US Vogue cover with a model, is boring, but the Natalia's ed is beyond better. My other fave is the story with Vanessa & angry to see Caroline on every issue.
