US Vogue October 2009 : Michelle Williams by Mario Testino

she is definitely an unexpected choice. never thought of her getting a Vogue cover.

but anyway, i think i don't like the cover. there's something wrong with it. maybe the shot 'cause it's too close??? i don't know. but her editorial is nice.

the content sounds exciting!!! can't wait for Karlie's couture ed. :) plus Coco is in this issue! :)

those Philip Johnson Glass House's shots are fantastic!!!

i honestly got sad when i read the title of this thread. i was really expecting Rachel McAdams. :(

i don't get the cover hate, i think she looks great. the best part is her eyes. =D and her editorial is adorable as well.

She was born in 1980, so she's 29. ^_^

Put her alonside Tavi, there's wouldn't be any difference.

Well I can't wait to see Karlie, Raquel, Anna, Karlie, Raquel, Jourdan, Caroline, Lily, Coco, Caroline, Raquel, Anna, Coco, Karlie, Caroline, Lily & Jourdan.

Michelle Williams? Now that's a surprise. Hopefully Rachel for November.^_^ Jou, Karlie, Lily, Julia & Coco? I might get this issue.:shifty:

It's different. Sort of emotional....thank God it's not 2005 anymore...it's not brilliant but it has emotion which is refreshing.

No like me the cover and the ed very boring and insulse

I really really like this cover shot, its perfect, but i have to say her ed is awful.Thats what she got? Where is the grand Vogue treatment for her debut? This looks so boring, they could have done her ed better for sure, but love that she is on the cover.

I love Michelle's green eyes, they look so beautiful, I'm not in love with the shot they chose though. Still, I think this cover is unexpected, and I'm looking forward to getting it in the mail.

It's so good to see somebody new on Vogue rather than the same people. But the one thing I'll never get is why do they always choose unflattering shots for the cover? Predictably, the editiorial inside has better pictures that they could've chosen (see Keira Knightley last year).

My thoughts exactly!! The cover photo is Always sub-par compared to the editorial shots. I just don't get it...
It drives me absolutely Mad!!! :furious:

Maybe "we" normal people and fashion lovers aren't supposed to get it. Maybe there is some secret code going on there that we aren't supposed to know, least of all understand. :D

I can't complain about seeing someone new on the cover, but at the same time, the shot doesn't inspire me to treasure this issue, it doesn't look like a keeper. It's an interesting image, maybe the more I look at it, the more I'll see something I like.

I love Michelle, but I don't like the cover shot. The other pictures are nice though.

Bigger Picture:

Michelle on coping after Ledger’s untimely death: “I was holding it together by a string and a paper clip in the fall and winter. I didn’t know if I could keep it all together… You console yourself by saying it’s all a deepening process. But it’s wired. After the first year, the pain is less intense; it’s less immediate. But the magical thinking goes away too. And that’s a whole new reckoning. But every time I really miss him and wonder where he’s gone, I just look at [Mathilda.]”

Michelle on the happy times: “‘Brokeback Mountain’ was an unrepeatable moment in time, a very charmed time in my life. I was in love; I was in a movie I was proud to be a part of, and with a beautiful brand-new baby. Everything was good in that moment.”

Michelle on dealing with the paparazzi presence: “It’s because of this tragedy that there’s more paparazzi. That is hard to be graceful and understanding about… It’s hard to be the man and the woman in that [paparazzi] situation. Heath always used to do that for us.”

Michelle on falling in love: “I thought falling in love again was the only thing that was going to save me from the pain. This erroneous idea: It just makes things more complicated.”

Michelle on what the future holds: “I feel hopeful and grateful. For a while I thought we had lost everything. It makes you want to love better and liver better.”
