Love this, Gaga looks great! God I love this woman - I still don't feel like she gets enough credit for her contributions to music, performance and fashion over the past (almost) decade. I get that she's not everyone's cup of tea and nor should she be, but she is incredibly talented, hard working and kind and is responsible for some truly iconic moments in pop culture.

And for people questioning her relevance: she's just begun a world tour which, according to the boxscores for the first 4 shows, is doing phenomenally well already; she is still a touring force even if her streaming power is not as mighty as her contemporaries. In the past year alone she had a killer Superbowl show, headlined Coachella, her album went to No.1 and (believe it or not) as of July is the highest selling female artist of 2017, although I'm sure Ms Swift will put an end to that quite soon.

I've gone a little off topic but my point is that she is still very much relevant and absolutely deserving of this cover and more.

I'm looking forward to seeing the HQ, I love the combination of the B/W and gold foil. Yes she's been on the cover of V a lot but she has a history and connection with the magazine and it's staff so it makes sense to me..but that might just be because I'm a fan (if you couldn't already tell )

I certainly didn't mean to suggest that she was the most or only relevant choice for the cover. I was responding to the fact that she is featured on this cover and explaining why I feel like it is a good choice at this moment in time.

And I absolutely think her accomplishments over the past few months are an important factor. I'm well aware that a cover is a mutually beneficial PR move (and look, she just announced a documentary today so she's clearly promoting that). I don't think either V or Gaga are above the usual promotional moves to sell their products and maintain exposure, but at the end of the day I want to read something interesting. If the cover star has had an exciting year then as a reader I would be more inclined to pick up the magazine and buy it so I could read what they had to say.

I perhaps should have used a word other than 'deserves' because I guess no one "deserves" it, it was my way of expressing that I think she is a fitting choice for the cover and would be so for many others. Of course there are a plethora of other musicians who are doing exciting things at this time and I'd love to see them on the cover too.

Kristen Stewart just got new hair inspiration!

I like the composition and gold foil accent, but why her? New album or film? Because she's as passé as this magazine to be honest. The hair and expression looks awful, and it's a pity the shot looks like one of Hedi's best.

V is clearly the only magazine willing to give her covers. I never see her book anything else.

How quickly we forget . She had the last Dec/Jan Harpers Bazaar US cover. She's also covered Vanity Fair and Porter (I think), back in the day.

It's implants. Her breasts went up at least 3 sizes in like 2 months. There are various before and after analysis and there's no way those are all natural.

Kylie for the cover would have at least given their September issue some whiff of modernity, a thread of relevance. I totally dig the soft-lens and the early-70s Playboy vibe.

She looks good as a blonde. The shoot would have been slightly memorable had there been an effort for variation instead of the same sheer, billowy crap with the wind machine over and over. Yes, I get it—her new boobs look totally awesome… now let’s try something else for at least one shot.

Christ you people in here are all too critical especially for the state of print publications in 2017, let alone FASHION PRINT. not to mention that V hasn't been a fashion publication since probably...2005? they've had models on their covers of course but most of their covers every year are celebrities

It seems to me that those of you that are calling someone like Gaga "tired and irrelevant" are the same people that can't accept that this business is the exact same right now. you're stuck in the 2000s and need to evolve. i'm not even a huge Gaga fan but at least she can reinvent her sound to score a #1 album, a superbowl performance, and a sold our world stadium tour. meanwhile Harper's is about to die, Elle goes through 16 new layouts a year, Vogue is a platform for instagram models, etc.

ANYWAY Hedi's shots are great. They remind me of his shoot with Lindsay Lohan which is also another favorite.
