Valentino Haute Couture F/W 10.11 Paris

Did these two get "the talk" from the head hunchos cause this collection to me can finally be called Valentino. The SS HC collection was absolute garbage so this is a nice surprise. Is it amazing. Hell no but it's a step in the right direction. Even this hairstyle is old school Val. Overall it's still very hit and miss. That cage dress is stupid but I'm glad there's a few red dresses. Those shoe boots with the bows need to die in a fire.

horrible collection. Is valentino aim to sell things to those loli girls instead of women?

A little dull and simple for my tastes. I'm not sure the finished product is nearly as sophisticated as the idea.

I see some of the soft, regal details that I always loved about Valentino. And the vintage looks are vaguely entertaining, I guess.

But I hate the minis! Not gonna lie.

Well there are some beautiful dresses but there is no element of surprise, no wow factor...very blah & meh, come on its supposed to be HC!

What
is
this?!

You call this a haute couture collection? What a mediocre and insubstantial showcase of pretty dresses. They can have all the intentions of the world to aim this collection for a younger target but their effort is quickly overwhelmed by how mediocre they are with (and I dare to say) replicas of not only the house archives but other designers as well. You can see very little intent to improve the archives and because of that, they stay in their comfort zone.

I can't believe how Alessandra Facchinetti's intricate effort not only in HC but in RTW as well was replaced by such shameful and mediocre talent like these guys have to offer. There hasn't been a entire collection from them that I've liked. Some ocasional pieces that I might consider somewhat good but these guys know how to screw things up. Too many oportunities have been given to them and they still continue to present such perturbating collections -_-

Um. I don't really like it save for a few looks but the collection as a whole falls flat for me. But I'm not a couture client so what do I know? I'm sure it will sell well. Does Valentino himself have any involvement with the company at all? I know he retired but it is his name...

What happened? This doesn't look elegant or anything. It's not tacky but it's also not what Valentino is supposed to be. Not even what HAUTE COUTURE is supposed to be. Regardless of what anyone could say, this season's couture collections ARE NOT what HC is supposed to be at all.

How the f*** does this not look elegant? I'm sorry but I just hate how some on here are just randomly commenting and saying "this looks horrible". I mean sure, it's not the best valentino collection ever, but can you honestly say it's a sh**** collection? and tacky? This is anything but tacky. I could easily see any young celebrity wearing one of those **** tail dresses out to an event and looking like a million bucks.

They sure can do a rosette dress like no other <3. Especially that white one on Katie Fogarty. Just stunning. The beginning started out a little boring, but it got so good in the middle & end. It's not my favorite haute couture collection from them, but it seems cleaner (not the best word to use lol) than their usual offerings while still catering to their youthful image. So many cute short dresses though!

you know as much as i dislike this collection (i see some old valentino but its too all over the place and bad cheesy), this new valentino is making me very curious. it may be in a bad way but today i was looking forward to a valentino collection just to see what these two will conjure up.. they definitely got my attention.

i think this is beautiful, young and a bit girlish..

I think it's pretty. The dresses are cute & girly

Obviously this wasn't inspired by Giambattista...like jeremydante said, it's totally 1968 Valentino. People assume Giambattista because it's recent, but in reality Giambattista is heavily influenced by designers of the past including Valentino. The designers are trying to fuse the past of the company with their ideas. And like tigerrouge, I can appreciate that they are trying to find what they feel works the best for the brand. And like a few more people said, I also got a vibe of Alessandra's work in here too. I'm not sure why, but it got into my head. I liked Alessandra's collection much, much better than this, but I find this to be a beautiful collection. I also think that they still have quite way to go to find what really works.
