Vogue Arabia September 2021 : HH Sheikha Latifa by Paola Kudacki

She looks so shy and cute... I hate it. :/

eep..... an established photographer like Paola Kudacki? Clearly there were limitations on set (either the talent or her team) and it shows.

Interesting interpretation of the sunrise theme.

Where’s the ‘New Beginnings’ cover line?

I can’t say I like it. But we’ll see what’s inside…

Where’s the ‘New Beginnings’ cover line?
I’m sure they’re gonna use it for their october issue. This is some kind of special issue to celebrate their 50th edition and the 50 years of the UAE and according the website celebrates the creativity in the region. They mention another articles included in the issue, but nothing about the shared content. Btw, the issue is 400 pages.

This is probably the most realistic Vogue Arabia cover ever produced.
She looks like the Arab woman who this magazine claims to represent.
Most of the other covers (particularly the ones with western pop stars/models) are half baked cliches, aimed at an international audience.

And I still don't understand why this edition even exists, tbh.

I think this is when the cultural issue comes in. She's probably the Arab world's equivalent of photographing a first lady or high level politician or royal. Her status doesnt allow for much out of the box styling or posing yet having her on the cover is a coup for the mag. I respect them for taking that risk to do something that the rest of the world may not understand but also that represents their region.

She is the daughter of the prince of Dubai. I have a feeling she got the cover because she wanted it. They should have picked an Emirati who’s more involved in fashion for the cover.

Wow, this is some of the worst photography in Vogue I have ever seen. Please report Paola Kudacki to the police, because this is a serious taste and skill offence. I hope the judge will give her 5 years of shooting weddings, uni graduations and cheap nightclub parties only, because this is so amateur that I see beginners on Behance doing better.

It's a breath of fresh air Vogue Arabia beauty editorials, being Vogue's current shape.

I don't particularly enjoy this very urban feel, instagramish... a model with a plain background in which editorial ends up looking nothing like what we got use to seeing in a fashion magazine. For me Vogue is a fashion magazine, not what this magazine is turning in to.
And what I end up seeing in instagram, with some of photos Vogue Arabia posts from it's editorials, specially beauty editorials, it resembles a lot past era.

And even other editorials that I have came upon, they are always really good. I don't particularly enjoy how most of current conversations about each issue starts and ends with cover. Specially now a days where you don't have any more information of what you can expect inside a cover - interview, article...

I would love to buy this issue.

That cover is plain drab.
However, the portraits of Rawdah Mohamed are so elegant.
That red would have been a sensational cover.
