Vogue France May 2025 : Adriana Lima, Joan Smalls & Lara Stone by Mario Sorrenti

lazy, is this a funeral issue? it looks like a lookbook and i hate the angle. i wish they did a group cover!

also, i can't with this 70s or whatever era they keep referencing with the fonts. it's so over and boring and not cool.

The bird's-eye view images are so off putting, while the eye level & worm's-eye view ones are just fine. (A few of them are pretty good, actually!)

That's the thing - if this is supposed to be about "goddess energy", you'd be down at their feet, looking up, not looking down at them. You'd be in a worshipping position.

Maybe I'm being too literal, but it would be a subtle way of doing things, where words mean something, and there's a theme. And I kinda get that in the editorial. But those covers just make them look bobble-headed.

The phrase "goddess energy" is cringey enough as it is. I've never been well-versed in photographers but Sorrenti isn't the best, is he?

these photos could have been the covers, more impactful and that give vibrations of the old Vogue Paris (even if very far away) with the gold layout everything would have been more beautiful!!! but I'm happy to see Lara and Natasha, too bad Daria wasn't there!!

It immediately reminded me of this Vogue Paris editorial from 2006 with Iselin Steiro, also by Mario Sorrenti but a cheap version (and I don't think it's about the budget in this case, but about the creativity of the stylist and the photographer (unfortunately limited from the point of view of political correctness)

neutralized by the recession, Vogue France May 2025 is a recession indicator

Yeah, the recession is why Sorrenti can't shoot a good photo to save his life for this magazine.
