Vogue India February 2009 : Jennifer Aniston by Craig McDean

Agreed, Freida Pinto would be a better choice -- there are so many gorgeous Indian actresses out there. The choice of reprint is a letdown, it looks cheap.

Freida is the right choice for sure! Look at how she dressed!
She's proud of Indian atm

So disappointing! Why can't they get someone like Nina Manuel, Carol Gracias, Vipasha etc on the cover. Even another bollywood cover with someone like Sonam Kapoor or Kangana Ranaut would have been more interesting!

Ya, that would be cooler. But what is with that fake cover on the conde nast website?! Are their real covers not good enough to gain advertiser's attention?

touche' :flower:

i would love to see nina manuel or lakshmi menon, or a model or indian actress even, i am surprised that sonam kapoor or deepika padukone haven't got a cover.

i am thinking freida is "too hollywood" for vogue india but i dunno but i hope she gets a cover.

That's the thing. Its still fresh in YOUR mind. Indians havent seen this image or editorial. I know its a reprint coz i'm on Tfs. And ultimately i think vogue india is for an indian audience, not international one. if that were the case, we'd just see pages and pages of wild colors and exotica. :flower:

On the other hand, because that Aniston interview generated so much worldwide buzz and media coverage, I would have thought that a certain portion of Vogue India's audience would have been aware of the US edition.

Perhaps that doesn't work against this issue, perhaps it means that Indian audiences can now see for themselves what the fuss was about, if the magazine reprints the interview in full, as well as the editorial.

Indian rose i seem to recall your extreme disappointment each time a bollywood actress wound up on the cover of vogue india:P

Maybe Vogue india was going for a Valentine feel to the issue.. Hence the hot red dress. No offence to ms. aniston.:flower:

Lol, yea i haven't been too impressed with Vogue India being more Filmfare, but i've always said i'd like to see Sonam on the cover :innocent:.

But more models would be good, like i mentioned before Nina, Carol etc

wow, a billion people have to suffer by looking at that cover. . . so sad.

Carol always has a constipated look about her. leave her for swimsuit related editorials. Always wonder why Nina manuel gets so few covers:unsure: Lakshmi Menon deserves another cover.

that really sucks.....dan.....quite regretable after such a promising start

 She really does, that's probably why I never thought she was pretty.
Nina Manuel would be a good choice for a cover though.

i agree, not a good choice for a reprint. I don't even understand why magazines reprint covers, they should have a new one every month!

is Jennifer Aniston actually famous in India?!?! generally, comedy doesn't translate well between cultures ... and really what has she done that hasn't been comedy? she seems like such the quintessential American movie-star-next-door ... not at all international. evidently, i am mistaken.

Friends? also, Brad Pitt is popular worldwide, so i guess his women will get talked about too.

Well, she did have one movie that came out last month and another one that just came out, both of which will probably release internationally. These days international BO matters as much if not more than domestic so that might be why her studio/publicist angled for a foreign magazine cover.

Besides, the whole BradJenlina thing has definitely given her international stature and I know that Friends is widely sindicated overseas too, it wasn't just an American thing despite how "American" it seems.

Edit: Then I look up and see that Streetalicious made exactly these points in, like, two sentences

b.o.r.i.n.g.....
I'd rather see Laksmi Menon than Jennifer Aniston.. :(
