I stumbled upon the thread through a link and started browsing, I must say the cover is fan-freakin-tastic! I am sooo mixed on the main ed, FashionBailout - the styling is so-so and the theme is annoyingly pretentious but I am really drawn to the composition of several photos.
^ It must be an epidemic... just the other day I was thinking about how admirable Vogue Italia's cover choices are in that fairly often they choose girls that many fashion snobs would never want to see on the cover of such a prestigious magazine. This issue immediately came to mind- it was my personal favorite Italia cover of 2009, and Eliza was certainly an unexpected cover girl. What a stunning, memorable shot.
^I whole heartedly agree with that. I remember that I personally did not like this cover when it first came out, even though I thought it was pretty impressive- but now I just marvel at its boldness..such an epic cover shot. Really amazing how Meisel's work just gains an retrospective quality over such short time. Imagine the legacy this will lead 10 years from now..
