Vogue Italia January 2021 : The Animal Issue

Not even going to comment on this mess. How do we genuinely put a complaint in? As Karen as it sounds, surely they can’t be so unaware?

Issue after issue is just nonsense, it always feels so insincere, like I (Farneti) had to find an idea for the issue so I saw a stray cat on my way to work and realised it had to be the theme of this issue, I will put random animals on the cover and it will be a instant hit.

This team of middle aged white cis men need to be given the boot. I’ve never seen such a mess of a magazine.

I haven’t seen anything about their circulation numbers over the past few years, can anyone give any insight into those?

New year-new lows
As much as Anja 's Vogue Poland cover was good, as much as her Vogue paris July was decent for self-portrait debut, this is a pure recycle bin. And don’t get me wrong, I love rats, her hairdo, her styling is a pure disgust. I can’t believe I am saying it, but I just flipped through vogue Poland January Cinematic issue with Brigit on the cover and it looks way better.

there is also lame Pieter Hugo shoot (partly posted, i normally love him, but its bad work),

some weird artwork with collages,

Heji Shin editorial with Zoe Petit and Ifra and sheep

and Nigel Shafran trash just taken from the last pages of re-edition

what really amazes me about this magazine, that tfspotters just hate it with all their hearts, and magazine lovers which are buying sleek press, reading all this fashion news and trying to be aware of everything they just really love that Farneti sh*t, visit newsstands, they really think that this is fresh, new and a breath of fresh air. Breath of fresh air straight from waste recycling plant...

Wait, so when someone posted something about Anja that wasn't a joke? LOL.
Poor girl is trying her best 101 HF glahmah poses......but with rats. It'll never catch on, love.

Ever watch the episode of Friends where Phoebe and Rachel catch Chandler and Monica messing around from across the window and Phoebe shouts out, "My Eyes, My Eyes"?

Yeah, I've been reliving that moment since yesterday watching this thread.

He is very successful with his gimmick piled upon heaps of gimmicks, unfortunately. The general public eats this all up without question as long as the activism/representation/SJ “issues” are slapped over lazy-to-mediocre photography and styling. He’s here to stay… It’s a lost cause to complain and expecting for his plague of blandness to end is even more of a lost cause.

(Nigel’s story is actually the only one that resonates with a tad of narrative— and sense of humour. So I dig it somewhat amongst the pile of mediocrity masquerading as activism. But it's so fashion photography student concept.)

So basically VI become a playground..not great photography, or styling or something memorable...just a collection on How NOT to edit a magazine....

i read some negative comments on Farneti’s cover posts and a LOT of ***-kissers....

I mean, different is good, try to think outside the box but it have to make sense to respect and represent the VI’s dna....and that doesn’t mean do things like Franca...
