Vogue Italia July 2014 by Steven Meisel

Saskia to the rescue again, practically icon-ready. Well Vanessa & Mariana also delivered a solid performance. Happy for Manuela's stint, she's doing wonderful.
I dont understand why Meisel didn't go all Ed van der Elsken on his ed. It would have been the only credible way of selling his favorite dead faces.

It's too bad that either Steven couldn't work with a large group of models-- including capturing and conjuring the necessary reactions when it's a group of men and women. Or, he didn't put much effort into it. That's the impression I get.

This could have been a great shoot and story. I like the cast: It's not their fault the story is so lifeless. It's Steven's fault. And the potential for more than just a fashion show, but something more cinematic, something bigger, could have come out of this.

Maybe they don't care because it's a July issue, and not an important month.
