Vogue Paris December 2012/January 2013 : Carla Bruni Sarkozy by Mert & Marcus

I really do appreciate the difficulty of stepping into Carine Roitfield's shoes. It's a tough act to follow and I think Alt does a great job considering her position. Though I can't help but feel that the spark of idea has been lost. There is nothing that strikes me as cerebral about Vogue Paris anymore. Just nice pictures with little context.

love all the eds... especially Malgosia... I love Christy too but it is a bit too 80ies for my taste... Love Carla's edits too... and I absolutely love first two shots in Helena's editorial... I like the Patti Smith imitation effort;-)

I don't understand all the love this issue is getting. Even though the model choices are interesting, the issue is basically full of a bunch of boring studio shoots. It's like Emmanuelle knew she had great models in the issue, so she felt she didn't need to actually do anything interesting with them. And that Malgosia editorial has been played out by VP. Jessica Miller was in a similar shoot for VP years ago.

i agree

In love with Christy and Helenas edits, they both look as amazing as they did in the 80s and love Malgosias edit too, so effortless and cool.

Carla, Christy & Helena all look amazing in their eds! Nothing exciting about the actual eds, still nice to see the girls again.

WOW...A lot of 90´s models. This issue looks like a continuation from the last one.
From the cover to the content, everything has a very similar tone to last issue.
I have a problam with Carlas 2 editorials. If you are booking 2 different photographers for the same issue with the same model, why are going to make the two stories looking like they were from the same photographer? I just dont get the studio pictures in Sorrenti editorial when M&M shoot is also in studio and Sorrenti has great outdoors shots in the editorial.
I adore Christy editorial
btw is there any new girl (or at least established ) in this issue or are they just supermodels?

This issue is a bit of a letdown for me. The cover is really plain. There are some great models in the eds but they aren't really used as well as they could be. I do like Christy Turlington's ed, though.

I feel like this editorial is pushing the fringe. Three of the models have fringe bangs. Random thought. But you know an issue is lackluster when half of the models in the magazine are sporting the same haircut.

Finally!! Geraldine on a main editorial!!! Love all the eds. Although, Carla`s is the most boring one
