Vogue Paris March 2013 : Suvi Koponen by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

I think that there is a typo on the title of this thread, it's meant to say Vogue Russia March 2013 by Hedi Slimane.

I love Suvi, and good for her, but this is the blandest photo of her by M&M ever. Maybe it will grow on me, but I doubt it... :innocent:

Amazing cover! I really love it. That's really phenomenal for Suvi  Her work is so consistent. The camera adores her.

This cover is amazing!! :buzz:
+ main ed looks promising too!

^that`s not part editorial, that`s from old w magazine)) taken by Mert& marcus

I really like Suvi but it reminds me so much of this, unless I'm forgetting something that is even more reminscent of the cover. From the comments in this thread, it is clear that this cover is not original and we feel like we've seen it before.

Bravo to the creativity and originality of Vogue Paris.

B)^_^

^ Did it with Isabeli in 2011 as well, which copycatted Linda by Meisel. How creative.

I don't like the cover. Isn't seems like Vogue Paris at all, as everybody is saying, it's look like Vogue Portugal/Russia/Germany but not Vogue Paris.

Must be the essential look for Suvi Koponen when working with Mert & Marcus. Because I'm also reminded of their edit with Suvi from the September 2012 issue. It's fine.. but I would of loved to have seen something different. M&M are notorious for giving us a different outlook on a model, however with Suvi it's the same as their last. I doubt Mert & Marcus warrant the full blame here. Joe McKenna styled the September 2012 edit and I assume Emmanuelle Alt styled this cover shoot.

Nonetheless, I'm over-anticipating the fashion stories from this issue. In desperate need of Natasha Poly over here.

I don't get it when people say it's not Vogue Paris. This is a vp cover so it automatically becomes in a vp style, other thing is saying it's nothing similar to what the edition usually does, otherwise I'm so glad of seeing Suvi gracing it, it's kinda unexpected though.

I'm not Suvi's biggest fan, but it kind of makes sense that she is on the cover, because she worked a lot for Vogue Paris in the beginning of her career back in the day. Vogue Paris was one of her biggest supporters, and Emanuelle was fashion director back then. Still, considering it's been pretty quiet around her for the last years, it comes as a surprise. But somebody in the industry apparantly got together and decided it was time to bring her back with a bang.

Love it! The moment I saw it I got a strong old Vogue Italia vibe from it, probably because of covers like the one Mr-Dale posted. Suvi is a great model for this minimalist aesthetic.
