Vogue Paris September 2015 : Natasha Poly by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

It's kind of funny that the worst eds are styled by Emmanuelle. Loving 'Amoureuse Solitaire' by Luchford though some of Westlings expressions are a bit off and Kollers styling is not very groundbreaking. Katie Nescher's 'Bonnes Impressions'is just beautiful.

This potentially could be the best September issue of the year. All the edits are strong. The main ad is boom. They could have choose the better image for the cover but over all it's solid issue. Can't wait to snatch a copy for myself.

I take my words back about Raquel being the best thing in this issue!
KARL'S INTERVIEW IS THE BEST THING EVER

Does anyone know when the October 2015 Vogue Paris issue comes out?

I ask this because I am going to Paris on September 19th and my first line of action is to buy September Vogue so I can attend Fashion's Night Out.

Usually around the 20 of each months.

Why is fashion so f****** boring? Who on Earth cares about this?

^^I totally agree. I think it's particularly prevalent in fashion magazines...all of which are seemingly having a hard time figuring out and defining who they are in this new virtual, visual landscape.

Instagram is the new "fashion magazine" in many ways, and so publications need to figure out how to make editorials meaningful and important and different from what you get online. Most magazines are having trouble with this, I find - save for Meisel, who is the only photographer left who makes print worthwhile.

These kind of editorials are so passé at this point. Nothing new is being brought to the table. Like...a Veruschka editorial? Really?

Thankfully, there is at least two of the fashion stories that excite me (after the August issue failed to produce not one). The cover story by Mert & Marcus is excellent, love Natasha's shots and Lily Aldridge surprisingly holds her own. The hair and makeup in 'Born to be Wild' does Aldridge SO much justice and I appreciate the fact she's an unexpected choice of model for French Vogue. Inez & Vinoodh's edit with Raquel Zimmermann is another favourite of mine. The idea feels fresh, original and very well executed. Alt's styling is great here, I love the Versace and Chanel shots.

A huge thanks to everyone who has contributed!

Well, I give VP props for not doing what the did for March 2015 and September 2012. Those covers are some of the cheapest, most pandering things I've seen in the magazine world. Especially for a mag like VP that has (had?) a high reputation.

stylefrizz, vogueparis.fr

to me it seems they need to cut down on the eds, maybe 2 less, cause then they can have more focus...

It really is sad to see what VP has become. Can't believe this is all they could deliver for the Septembe issue. Except for Raquel's ed, everything feels weak and uninspired.

This could be any other issue of the year. Only four editorials and they're nothing special to speak of. This September is turning out more and more disappointing.

I would rather get me a Vogue Sep 2012 cover than this. At least is something sophisticated. I don't mind breasts and bare legs; I just hate all the "swag" from brands like Givenchy, the 80s kitsch from Balmain, the pimp fur from Fendi,... and how this is influencing stylists and magazines. And THANK GOD Jeremy Scott isn't that much of an influence (yet).

Guess next we will face Kim Kardashian, Beyonce and all those "style icons" (LOL) we see around Vogue US, Spain,... Where will I look for French minimalism now? The French/Belgian sobriety/temperance? The Jolie Laide style of Charlotte Gainsbourg?

Really? Raquel's ed bores me to death

Man, the cover story... it's not that it's bad per se, it's just that when you really look at what's going on, you start to see that the theme (at least what Natasha is putting forth) is 'insane rich lady with a tribal delusion', or something... and then it all unravels. It's just weird and not really aspirational at all. Natasha gave it her all and I think Lily is fine too, but the story overall is just absolute crap.

the cover matches everything I dislike
the only thing i don't dislike are pics by david sims

I guess this was not the best VP of 2015 but definitely the one with Anna Ewers by David Sims was hideous and there's one member here who is/was a failed model and she complains about every cover Natasha is in or other models. Is that you Snejana?
