W October 2004 : Elise Crombez by Steven Meisel

I didn't see a thread for this...

There are two eds: Asexual Revolution by Steven Meisel and Ladies in Waiting by Paolo Roversi. Scanning as I type ^_^

There is really no thread on this?!?!? Imagine if this issue would come out today...

I don't think so..I did a google search, since you can't search for less than 3 letters on TFS...

Thank you for the scans, Jessy! I'd love to see the cover scanned, as well. ^_^

The cover is the first shot in the editorial...I had scanned the cover , but after uploading it in HQ, I noticed a lot of scratches and things like that (it's a really beat up issue that a friend of mine found) and since it's the same picture, I thought it would be better just to upload the actual editorial instead...:flower:

Thank you for the scans jssy:heart:

I located the old thread... merged & edited the first post w/a small cover image & and an article from The New York Times about the issue.

:flower:

What a fantastic cover and inspired gender-bending editorial:woot:
Exactly the type of thing that W should get back to doing. Their covers have been extremely lacklustre of late and they really to go back in their archives and see how thought provoking they were.

Holy mackerel. I love it I love it I love it . Look at that cover!! Yowza. (Someone hand me a sedative .)

SERIOUSLY....Possibly my FAVOURITE EDITORIAL FORM MEISEL, AND ALSO FROM W!!!! Up in my top 10!

I got my copy of this (not bad price actually) today and I love love love it .

The Meisel ed is superbly done, especially from a styling point of view...actually initially I felt a bit uncomfortable by some of the images, but they are just so dramatic and darkly-beautiful upon multiple views.

However I prefer the second one. Roversi's editorial is just breathtaking, I think Heather looks ethereally seductive there.

The non-ed contents are pretty good too, this must be one of my favourite back-issues that I recently bought, together with the March 2005 one

WOW!!!! Roversi's editorial is so, so inspiring. They look like oil-paintings; look at how the garments look like brush strokes..wow. Just incredible

As evidenced by my scans below W can't fit properly in my scanner but since a HQ hasn't been posted I think I should do it. It's one of my favorite covers ever
