"Do we need nature ?"

this summer Vanessa Bruno presented her work in praise of being a woman.
through the Greek myths and the beauties of nature, she gave her own interpretation to woman worship, such as the admiration of people for the goddess.

various fabrics were mixed to coexist: cotton/linen naturally teamed with cotton voile, while silk muslin delicately with satin jersey. each fabric as such could work well, of course, but a layer of the fabrics was designed purely for effect like "mille-feuille". muslin, cotton voile, and jersey, used with a cotton cloth, expressed naturalness and purity.

the summer garden inspired her with colors. powder pink and lemon yellow reminiscent of roseleaves were mixed with greens of a wide variety of shades, which represented the refreshing air of early summer.

the designer, who attempted to carve her way to "essential femininity" this season, developed generousness playfully through dresses with shirring and ribbons. tunic dress, apron dress, and emphasized neckline...all was intended for making the most of the beauty of the female form.

the accent of the collection was on:

-arranged mens shirts, updated basics
-drapes and pleats in respect for the bodyline
-the chest and the neckline under the influence of empire line
-the balance of tennis look at the beginning of the twentieth century
-shorts and skirts which were tucked up
-pastel nuance, neutral tones like lemon yellow and green
-plays on cashe-coeurs, cardigans, and dresses

about A/W collection, the only news is tote bags (mint green × mint silver, mauve × violet) arrived.

thx for the translation runner...it was very 'goddess'-like...although i didn't love those pinks and yellows...hope fall is a deeper colour palette... :flower:

I'd love to buy this astrakhan hat; at 688 € it ain't gonna happen since I'm moving to another country and everything... Always loved these, they are really old men's hats, aren't they?

my sicilian grandfather used to wear a very very very similar one...i wonder what happened to it...?...hmm....

Runner thanks for your help. I liked this seasons collection a lot - especially the mix of fabrics. I think you only see her collection properly in her shop however - when you only see bits & pieces its difficult to seewhat she is trying to do with the collection. Can't wait to see the winter stuff. I agree with softgrey - hope she does some deeper colours.

here is a pic of a really nice junya outfit that i'd love for winter

Thanks Runner - I have had a look - i really like it. Its similar to the summer in terms of shape but has moved on slightly in colour. I really like the blue/prple colour. I am sure I'll be buying some of this when I am in paris.

i think VB ought to have her own thread - softgrey do you think I should start one?

runner - so is VB really popular in Japan? What other stuff are the japanese girls wearing these days... I love seeing the way japanese girls put things together - they look so good! I am always in awe of them when I see them - so stylish in a really low key way.

I think it's popular here, at least doing a much better business than Helmut Lang, though maybe her name itself is not as well-known as his.

these days the girls who really like clothes might be wearing labels like LIMI feu, Toga, mina perhonen, Frapbois...
what do you think of these?

and some women who buy Marni often wear Haute and the stuff Maurizio Altieri creates.
these are also what I will certainly get for winter.

runner - thanks for those links - unfortunately I can't access them properly because my computer is too weak. I like the pics tho' - I think the clothes would look better on japanese girls than on me tho'. I like the yellow floral trousers. Tartan is so popular in japan isn't it? its funny because no-one wears tartan here.

I love the Toga pic - that is beautiful. Thats quite like the kind of clothes I wear.

yes helena it's popular.
then why? it's like people here feel disinclined to wear Japanese printed t-shirt?

the designer Limi Yamamoto is Yohji's eldest daughter.
so...who will succeed to his post?

I think you are right. maybe feu is French meaning fire.
and it's li-mi, fu. everyone call the label just LIMI.

thx again runner...didn't even know that yohji had a daughter...she seems to have inherited some talent... how long has the company been around?...i tried to read the info on the site but it's all in japanese.....is it sold anywhere in paris or london...?

Limi worked under Yohji for a very long time, I believe, and just recently launched Limifeu. Very nice collection!

so any idea where it's sold...aside from japan>?...
