What can I wear it with? (December 2003 - March 2010)

I have a charcoal grey turtleneck sweater dress with two square pockets at the hip. It's knee length and sort of loose.

I want to avoid the usual black tights/boots/belt look with it and do something more fun.

Probably not the right thread to ask, but what du you think about patent or leather tights for men? Like this, from Mats Nørgaard:

Persoally, I think it's great, a fresh breath among all the jeans.. I would maybe wear it with a heavy, turtlekneck knit, a thrench, (matching gloves?) and some armyboots..

How would you combine it, if you would wear it at all..?

I would wear that red dress with yellow satin shoes

Bertinius with any cute cotton t-shirt/sweater

I just got this turtleneck sweater dress that I really want to wear for New Year's Eve in lieu of my regular jeans, nice top, and heels combo. Problem is, I really don't know what to wear the dress with. It's a very dark navy blue, it's more of a loose mock turtleneck, it's got an empire waist, the skirt part of it is pleated, and it hits me a few inches above the knee. Any help is appreciated! :flower:

Okay, guys, I need your help! I bought a pair of brown and a pair of red (kinda bright shade) jeans. They're like straight-leg, coloured denim. I have noooo idea what colours to wear on top. Help? I'm sorry I should have posted pictures but don't have any right now...

i own a pair of red straight leg denim and i found that this top: http://store.americanapparel.net/s384.html looked amazing with it! I have one in black and one in white and they both looked good. Try it!

Thanks, will do, I have a really similar shirt in black from H&M and I think I'll get the white one :flower:

^ i think the red pair would be lovely with a steel grey or asphalt top. solid or subtle pattern because the pants are probably loud enough.

for the brown, if its dark espresso then powder blue is goes well. if its lighter brown then maybe a navy silk top or something to dress it up abit?

if you have white or metallic shoez do it up!

good luck :)

Thanks, I will try that too :D It's kind of a dark brown, yes!!

help me make a decision

i started this thread becuase i need some help:blush: (and who else to ask but you brilliantly stylish TFSers?;)) i couldn't find one like this but if i missed it can a mod please merge them? anyway, i'm going to buy a small leather wristlet that comes in 3 colors; taxi yellow, hot pink, and orange. i need your opinions on which color you like the most and what i could make the most color combinations with. i was thinking about matching it to colors such as light grey, charcoal grey, navy, black, red, chocolate brown, beige, cream, metallics like gold and silver, other shades of blue, maybe purple etc... It doesn't have to go with all the colors but it should go with more than the others. I also want to wear it with the boots in the picture below. thanks in advance for your help. i don't want this to be a useless thread (this could be a thread for anyone who needs help deciding about which style/color to buy etc...) so if someone could think of a better name...

i don't know what works with my high-waisted trousers. models and other users here just tuck in their slim shirts and it looks fine, but if i do the same, my shirts will always crumple in my waistline. *grrr*

what about a wide belt to underline the waist, or long cardigan over them with a belt, or with a Top with kimono style sleeves

What about a loose tank top with a lace bra in a contrast colour peeking out? I'd do that if I could wear wide legged high waisted pants (my legs are too long, my torso ends up looking very short:shock:)

thank you very much, aris and the ida. a loose tank top would be nice, but it's deep cold winter here in germany at the moment.
aris, the outfit with the big cardi is classy and great, i think i'll try it like that.

ida, I can't believe you actually said "my legs are too long". Legs can never be too long. Give me yours :p

kindi, i have the same problem. i haven't tried this yet, but i thought it could be a good solution to wear loose tops, tuck them in and pull part of it out, so it will cover the waistline (hope i explained that right). a good option could be those tops that are tighter at the bottom:
