Karen Elson on December Italian Vogue

Gorgeous!
Whoa, she looks different there - phenomenal. I like that she has stronger eyebrows on the cover - it barely looks like her. Total glamour girl...I applaud! (and this is by someone who normally isn't a huge fan of Karen Elson)

Jan 05 U.S. Elle. After reading the above review, I was expecting shite along the lines of the Nov 04 issue. But I'll say it's pretty good. Even the Elvis' granddaughter part.

i loved the issue!!!! as always.....
and always interesting!!
it's still very much the fashion bible, isn't it?

Diane Kruger on Jan Harpers & Queen:

Former Real World-er Jacinda Barrett on Jan Tattler:

It's official...J.Lo. is January US Vogue's cover girl...preview in today's NY Post, cover shot by Testino.

Second that

I'm not buying it either...

For a while there I hoped the Gods would listen and get rid of these actresses from the covers, but obviously not  Everything goes in cycles so hopefully one day..fingers crossed

Does anyone know how many sales the Sept issue with all the models made? I'd be curious to know....

Hey, still avatar-less, but...

Kate Bosworth is on the cover of both US and UK Cosmo December. I've always liked UK Cosmo's Xmas issue, but this one is very bland. Judging from the volume of this thing you'd think there'll be many kicks, but, alas, no. Two pictures are nice but they look like they're lifted directly from the pages of UK Glamour. Nothing new.

Girls that I'd like to see more often:
Scarlett Johansson (got Elle and UK Vogue and W this year, is Cosmo next? Better yet, GQ)
Keira Knightley (covergirl for Elle in 2003 and Cosmo in 2004. She deserves to be all-over the place. You can't put old hats Nicole Kidman, whom I love, and Renee Zellweger and worse Gwen Stefani on the cover of every magazine imaginable and not the Best Ingenue)
Kate Beckinsale (she's Vogue material and both sides of the Atlantic have to catch on)
Rachel Weisz (ditto)
Naomi Watts (Both her W and Elle spread were lazy. She is quite a regal fashion chalemeon and deserves a star editorial in Vogue or Bazaar)
Paz Vegas (super hot, already on BlackBook)
Eva Mendes (Elle needs to put this exotic beauty on cover and stop the nonsense with its happy-go-Brazil bore)
Zhang Ziyi (okay, too much of a strech, but I can dream)
Don't want to see:
Gwen Stefani, Renee Zellweger, Christina Applegate, Jennifer Aniston (as congenial as she is), Catherine Zeta-Jones, Beyonce.
I think Gwen Stefani has used up her mag covers quota...hopefully she'll be no where next year.

Thinking ahead to early 2005 covers, and who you'll probably see:

Jennifer Garner: promoting Elektra (I can't imagine this pic being any good, since Daredevil wasn't)

Debra Messing: back to pre-baby weight, has a movie coming out early spring

Rachel Weisz: a big fashion lover, has a movie co-starring Keanu Reeves set for a March release

Uma Thurman: another who was on alot of covers last year, she stars Be Cool, the sequel to Get Shorty

Sandra Bullock: 2 movies (incl. the sequel to Miss Congenality) out between March and May

Tea Leoni: 3 movies out between now and June, been out of the limelight for a while

Naomi Watts: The Ring 2 is out in April/May

Queen Latifah/Alicia Silverstone: Beauty Shop comes out in May

Nicole Kidman: the big 3 (Vogue/Bazaar/W) love her; The Interpreter is out in May

Paris Hilton: her big screen debut in the House of Wax comes out in May

Angelina Jolie: Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Brad Pitt out in June

other stars with movies coming out: Eva Mendes, Keira Knightley, Penelope Cruz, Jennifer Aniston, Amanda Peet, Jada Pinkett Smith, Christina Ricci, Zooey Deschanel, Renee Zellweger

Honestly, I've so had it with celebrities plastered everywhere. Not that I don't appreciate some of these women, but it's... just... so... BORING.

BAZ.jpg

Scarlett Johansoon for Bazaar Jan 05, wearing a light turquoise Calvin Klein halter gown, photographed by Peter Lindbergh. Lindbergh seems to be shooting every Bazaar cover now that Demarchelier has jumped ship, but shooting a sexy young ingeune is really Sorrenti's job. Alas, Sorrenti did a great editorial with Elise in this issue....

This is Bazaar's "Fashion Capital" issue where they select a key look from major brands and group the pictures by capital. Elise Crombez and Mario Sorrenti did Milan, Hana and Alsdair McLellan did Paris, and Amber Valletta and Peter Lindbergh did New York. Even though design-wise Paris overshadowed Milan, Elise's ed is the best thanks to her strength as a model.
