What to wear to prom or homecoming

I'm also a senior but have not found a dress yet (prom's in less than two months). The dresses that are out there are either too tacky, too expensive (biggest problem), or are short and I really don't like showing my legs.

I actually don't want to go to prom, but my mom's been pushing me to go since I haven't gone to a single dance in high school. I've been looking for months, actually found a gown, it was $995, and had to let it go. Sucks.

My prom was years ago. 1999 and 2000 If I remember correctly.
I love looking at prom dresses.

And no I don't give a flip who sees me online.

See, I had this preconceived notion that prom was all about long poofy dresses and updos.

I tried it on again earlier this year to see if it still fit. You can see the actual dress better here: (Just ignore the stupid poses.) The one is utter crap but shows the beads really well.



Senior Prom:
Got the poofy dress/updo thing out of my head.
First I found my mother's old prom dress and decided to try it on. It was a biiit too small in the rear-end area. It's light blue with a sheer fabric with flowers on it. My mom graduated in, I think 78. (I really should take a photo of the dress itself.)

I went with this instead:

I really like the all tulle ones a lot but the red one is in better condition and more prom-ish and I just like the white one just because... I need help deciding.

The white one and the salmon tulle one are the loveliest by far. Of the two I think I prefer the tulle because it's a bit more romantic and reminds me of a Givency HC I coveted but either are gorgeous imho. Maybe go based on your colouring or the one which is closest to your size.

I like those two as well. The last one is gorgeous--not a typical prom dress--looks 50s Balenciaga. If you're OK with standing out from the crowd & aren't overly well-endowed, I'd do that one.

Maybe it's just me, but I have a thing against wearing white at prom. It's your prom, not your wedding.

my sister's friend gave me a betsey johnson dress from years ago that she never wore. ahhh i'm so lucky, i can't even believe it's mine, hahahah. will take pictures soon! :]

haleyanne, I really love all of them, but my favorite is probably the first tulle one, it's so pretty!

I have some pretty art deco-ish earrings to go with it.

Now all that's left is to find a ring (Only if I find one that goes well) and a bag...and decide how to do my hair. I'm thinking a curly updo with a vintage brooch in it?
It's in a month/5 weeks. I'm so excited...Senior prom!

Awwww nice dresses guys!

It's my sister's prom this year. I feel so old Mine was 4 years ago. I was actually dressed pretty normal, I hated all the long tacky prom dresses that our small town stores had. Decided I was gonna be different from everyone else.

Woah looking back, I have changed quite a bit, especially in the shape... I had still such a babyface (removed though, I'm ashamed) And those shoes were SUCH a pain wow. I got so many compliments on them though I still have them, sitting in my closet.
