I started experimenting with eyeliner and eyeshadow when I was in ninth grade - that's about 14, I guess?
I'm 17 now and I wear eyeliner, eyeshadow, and mascara to school (lipgloss too, but I don't count that). I think wearing foundation and blush is too much for high school. You don't need too much when you're still young and it just looks like you're trying too hard. Some girls wear so much makeup that their skin looks flawless but everyone call tell you've put on like a pound of makeup.
I only wear foundation when I'm going out for a special event. I do wear concealer sometimes but that's it. Have fun when you're young. You'll need to wear the heavy makeup when you're older, but not now.

but I try and not to wear too much. There's a girl in my year who must have been wearing literally the whole package (i'm talking concealer, foundation, powder, highlighter, blusher, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, lipgloss and the rest!...) since she was about twelve. It's too much, and even if she has bad skin (which she has underneath all the layers), at her age, she should give it some air and let it heal.
