It really depends on what you're giving him credit for. He wasn't actually the first person to put a woman in man's suit. Daring women had been appropriating menswear for decades before him.

I think that technically his claim to fame involves being the first couturier to put a woman in a man's suit, which was shocking, of course, but he didn't originate the idea.

This thread is already brimming with so much goodness.

Not to put myself in the company of the extraordinary women in these pages.. but just merely inspired by them (and many others), i guess.. i bought my first suit today. I'm planning to wear it to a wedding next weekend, actually.. not sure how that will go over, but somehow it just feels right to me!

I have always found that image of sofia coppola really striking. Malogisa Bela looks amazing too.. especially in that last picture where she is curled up.
