Gasp, this is gorgeous! A bit too retouched for my taste but without a doubt a timelessly beautiful shot. Very happy for Fran.

I could look at that cover shot over and over again, it's got a depth that you just don't see in fashion photography these days.

Beautiful indeed, and very reminiscent of something from the 60s when a Brit beauty like Jean Shrimpton or Twiggy would make a splash on the cover of an American magazine. I am ALL in for this!

ugh. stop trying to make this girl happen. she's a cookie cutter, more conventional version of Emma Stone. incredibly dull. the cover photography while pretty is also dull, and could've been shot by anyone. the fashion and beauty styling is on point though.

Lovely cover and I'm a fan of Fran. Her print work is consistently impressive, even if IIRC her runway walk needs improvement.

Alex White did a great job with the styling here, the dress adds such impact to this cover. Hopefully the editorial continues in this vein.

What a gorgeous portrait! WSJ is quite possibly my favorite US glossy magazine at the moment. Even their missteps (e.g. the Claire Foy cover last month) are still appealing to look at. One of the very few mainstream publications that remain tasteful and sophisticated in the way they approach this catastrophic era of fashion.

Gorgeous! Jansson rarely fails, I love his work so much...I wish US Vogue would use him for some covers again.

Fran is just beautiful and she is very captivating here. I love the use of light and that it's all black and white. WSJ pretty much always deliver, I always look forward to seeing their covers and shoots.

I love this shoot, so inspired. Fran photographs beautifully. She's such a chameleon and captivating model.

The studio shots are strong (Jansson is very underrated in the studio), but the location shots dampen the impact of the overall editorial. I wish magazines would stop with this here/there/everywhere studio vs. location stories, a very lame 2010s trend that rarely works IMO.
