I beleive in survival of the fittest. I believe that through evolution humans have become the dominant specis and therefore we can do whatever we like with the rest of them.

That's our privilege

I believe if we were to just live by "survival of the fittest" with no thought we wouldn't be the fittest for very long, and since the characteristic that makes us "the fittest" is our brain we might as well use it. I believe that we have developed conscience, and that humans who respect their conscience are the "fittest" kind, and also the kind who do the most to ensure the survival of our society. So I don't really think it is valid to think that you can just do whatever you like with the other species of the world. I think it's a very archaic viewpoint, besides that, other species are what facilitates our survival and the survival of the planet we live on, so we should try to use our "highly developed brains" to protect them, not to think up new and more efficient ways to exploit them, and ultimately ourselves, to death.

I really don't believe we have any higher right to the planet and it's resources then any other species, but even if it was our privilege to exploit other species, we should at least respect our privileges, unless we want to become the architects of our own demise.

I'm all for fur in moderation, its soft and pretty... also much more acceptable when living in a cold climate, but fur in Miami or LA is useless

I would wear fur, but I would never order fur if the clothing isnt in the store.
In other words I would/am wearing fur but I would never ask for someone to make more fur clothing if its sold out, and thats why I love vintage fur, sorry if I dont make sence!
And I dont wear all types of fur for exampel I would never wear rabbit fur dont know why!

I don't like the idea of killing animals for clothing, although I'll admit I'm a hypocrite, because I do have some leather things. I mostly don't have any fur because I think it's pretty tacky. I have a couple things with fake fur as a trim, but allover fur coats and things are just not fashionable if you ask me.

Sometimes fake looks almost just as good, but it feels very different.

I think the difference is that real fur is warmer than fake fur, and feels a lot 'nicer' than fake.

If I saw something that I wanted and it was made of fur I would probably buy it but I'm not sure, I've never been in that situation. I think I'd possibly freak out at the last minute and not buy it

buying prada, in the circumstance it's not animal fur or leather, will not kill/harm the animal. thats the difference. Unless you don't see a difference between living and non living... killing and non killing.... cruelty and non cruelty... lack of consciousness to consciousness.

Real fur is so much softer. I don't care how "real" faux fur is, it isn't the same!

oh and innocent fairy, much karma. I see the human being/animal argument as you. I think human beings have the ability to reach this higher consciousness.. a more surreal and spiritual enlightened state that other species probably could never reach, but alas, we are nowheres NEAR close to it. At least animals keep to themselves, behave in accordance to the natural order, they don't f*ck things over by being like the homo sapien who feels they have some God Given right to take whatever they please and stomp their feet over everything and everyone else, mostly for their own futile pleasures. Oh if only the other thousands of species could talk.... I bet they'd talk in circles around us.

No but seriously guys, I agree that animals are innocent ect but its impossible to ask people to not wear fur and show respect for the animals especially when people dont even respect people.
And As I said before I dont see anything wrong with wearing fur, but I wouldnt order fur, and thats why I buy vintage, and thats just me.

I'm not against wearing vintage leather or vintage fur.. (except for the message it sends out to society) if it supports some small vintage business and not the corporation/factory that pays for the animal to be slaughtered. so I see where you are going with that... and I also see what youre saying about people not even respecting people, hell, people don't even respect themselves, so it can seem pretty impossible to ask people to respect animals. But oh well, I try ..
