Your Top Collections of F/W 10.11

This season, the following collections stood out for me..

Hermes. Loved the theme, the concept, the clothes, the runway..
Louis Vuitton. Great cast, great clothes. I'm a sucker for the classics
Lanvin. Elegant, opulent, chic and at times sinister..
Balenciaga. It was a surprise but I liked how clean and minimalist it was
Carolina Herrera. That was WOW!
Kenzo. Earthy, flowy, overstyled but overall lovely..
Fendi.

Majorly disappointed with Chanel and Versace... :(

Still undecided but I think I love Prada too.

My favourite collections were:

Gianfranco Ferre
Karl Lagerfeld
Loewe
Akris
Celine
Marc Jacobs
Kris Van Assche
Jean-Pierre Braganza
Antonio Berardi
Max Azria
Todd Lynn

Louis Vuitton
Gambiattista Valli
Viktor & Rolf
Alexander McQueen

Hmmmm.... I loved Louis Vuitton (weird considering how I usually dislike MJ), Kenzo, Lanvin, Miu Miu, Alexander McQueen, Celine, Prada, Missoni, and from London and NY... which I don't remember too much of, ummm, Carolina Herrara, CK, and umm, I remember loving the styling at Rag and Bone but that's about it lol. Didn't pay much attention to London TBH.

Best of the Best:

Lanvin - So chic it makes me cry. It was like a super-concentrated dose of dark and mysterious glamour.

Bests:

Prada - I NEVER like Prada, EVER. Well I do but very rarely. This was so good!
Haider Ackermann - The man needs to be coronated, genius collection. The shapes were mesmerising and the cuts so interesting.
AF Vandevorst - They're such a talented couple, detailing every single piece of their work, I love how they tuck their clothes into the boots.
Valentino - Not fantastic, but a huge step up. Everyone was hating on the ruffles but it's classic Valentino!
Burberry - Still a bit repetitive of the past seasons but it was one hell of a repeat! So strong and impressionable. Im such a sucker for naughty boots.
Alexander McQueen - would have liked to see more outfits because it was such a fantastic collection but Im happy with what we got. Even when he's dead he's putting on a show, now THAT'S fashion.

Unexpectedly Disappointing:

Versace - What happened Donatella? :( :( This ruined the WHOLE of Milano for me.
Rodarte - CutCopy described it as "Looks like my grandmother's couch" So appropriate
Salvatore Ferragamo - He's a new designer Ill give him that, but I still think its disappointing. It's so diluted now.

Average/Mediocre:

Emilio Pucci - It WAS good, but it looked sorta messy, still beautiful though.
Balenciaga - This was actually beautiful and very innovative so it should be on the Best list. But I wish ghesquire would do an interesting set, clothes like this need a SHOW!!
Versus - I didnt hate it like everyone else did. Very Kane...too MUCH Kane and not enough Versace
Gucci - Yeah it was sexy and hot but the truth is it's VERY unoriginal and VERY easrly 2000s. Frida get a life.
Louis Vuitton - Marc should have chosen more interesting prints and colours, apart from that, it was an interesting collection...a bit boring though.
Rick Owens - It was scary and twisted, just how it should be, but I've seen so much better.

Worst but expected:

Emanuel Ungaro - *sigh*
Chanel - Not really sure what that old geezer was getting at but it failed.
Christian Dior - Everyone knows about this.
Marc Jacobs - Yeesh.
MMM - Let's not even go there.

I have to give it some thought, but DSquared2 is on my list this far (dodging tomatoes). Louis Vuitton and McQueen are on my list too, but since they were fairly recent I want to make sure that they have staying power. Gareth Pugh and Giles Deacon also made an impression.

Alexander McQueen. Michael Kors. Dries Van Noten. Louis Vuitton. Balenciaga. Hermès. Stella McCartney. Yves Saint Laurent. Prada.

I best list-ed DSquared2 as well :flower: I wasn't crazy about how explicit the theme was, but they did the red leather trend better than anyone else to me, and the suits were cut great. Not to mention that skeleton dress! It was sick. They were terrible last season, but I thought this collection was really redeeming.

I forgot to add Haider Ackermann to my list! It was a revelation.

I agree with all, this season was the worst in many many years. Nearly all of the houses disappointed me. Also, I didn't enjoy one single show in Milan this season.

Good:

Balenciaga
Pringle of Scotland
Viktor & Rolf
Stella McCartney
Marc Jacobs
Valentino
Alexander McQueen

Bad:

Louis Vuitton
Prada
Burberry Prorsum
Proenza Schouler
Christopher Kane
Missoni

Worst:

Chloe
Chanel
Versace
Bottega Veneta
Karl Lagerfeld

The amazing:

Louis Vuitton...Marc really took it to another level with this collection, th dresses were to die for!!!! and the cast? even more so..

Oscar de la Renta...the epithome of elegance this season, the man shure knows how to bring his A game over and over...

Marc Jacobs...now i can say that his secure spot at the next "top 10 collections" by Style is well earned, loved everything bout it, especially Freja's dress...

Christian Dior...i just can't believe the way people responded to it, it was so drama with an ethereal feeling and what i loved the most is that he parted ways with the "new look" this season....beautifull.

Hermes...the holmes inspired collection was brilliant.

Emilio Pucci... loved the way he didn't intend to create the same "patern" with the outgoing looks on the runway, everything was so diferent and full of life!!!!...

The Bad:

Rodarte...i found it really insipid and dull...the patchwork was beyond ugly!! period..

Carolina Herrera...Oscar gone extremely extremely tacky!!!.

Jean Paul Gaultier...for how long is he going to keep triying to dress african and southasian tribes?..

This season will go as one of my favorites when it comes to literal ready-to-wear clothing, while the big houses focused on putting up huge gimmicks to attract all the attention, the magic was really in the small details this time, and Dries collection tops my list for that reason.. it doesn't take an iceberg from Scandinavia or a rail of supermodels for women to fall in love with clothes, just simple, well-thought clothes presented with modern sensibility.

1. Rodarte
2. Marc Jacobs
3. Preen
4. Christian Dior
5. Chanel
6. Jil Sander
7. Dries Van Noten
8. Louis Vuitton
9. Alexander McQueen
10. Erdem

and... Carolina Herrera

The Best:
D&G
Hermes
Louis Vuitton
Dior

The worst:
Altuzarra
Chloe
Missoni
Nina Ricci

A nod must be made to No.21 by Alessandro Dell'acqua, the comeback collection by the designer, and what a strong comeback it was.

A dozen favorites in no particular order:

Ann Demeulemeester
Alexander McQueen
Marc by Marc Jacobs
Burberry
Haider Ackerman
Celine
Dries Van Noten
Pringle of Scotland
Lanvin
Proenza Schouler
Christopher Kane
Rag and Bone

Most shocking disappointment:

Chanel

I only made it to 7.

1. Lanvin
2. Victoria Beckham
3. Elie Saab
4. Azzedine Alaia
5. Collette Dinnigan
6. Alexander McQueen
7. Stella McCartney

Favorite: (in alphabetical order)

A.F Vandevorst
Ann Demeulemeester(always, although not her best season)
Comme des Garcons(hmm, not his best)
Gareth Pugh
Hermes
Haider Ackermann(the best season till now)
Yohji Yamamoto

Disappointment:

Jil Sander
Gianfranco Ferre
Rick Owens(partial)

Most major shows are ugly(sorry for the fans), like Prada, Chanel, Dior, Versace, bluh bluh(to my aesthetics).

As for Alexander Mcqueen, those dresses are no doubt full of craftmanship and exquisiteness, however compare to his SS 2010 collection(I'd rather say disappointing to his passaway), his SS2010 collection definetly was a remarkable moment.

My Top Collections Were:

-Celine
-Dries Van Noten
-Erdem
-Lanvin
-Acquascutum
-Marios Schwab (& for Halston)
-Gianfranco Ferre
-Thakoon
-Chloe
-Reed Krakoff
-Sophia Kokosalaki
