Yves Saint Laurent F/W 08.09 Paris

he's been light years better in the past, but there are still some nice dresses here.

theres quite a few pieces i love.. and i think the styling is awesome!

the only thing is, and i hate comparing designers but a few pieces feel reminiscent of boudicca ss 06- at least its what came to mind when i saw the pieces in post 99, with the cobalt blue facing. it is one of my favorite looks though!

stefano, i love you

his take on the 40's high-necklines, with 70's-esque wrap dresses and suiting is sheer genius

in retrospect its nice but over hyped had some lesser known designer made this , it would have been just treated OK , while the skirts suits are nice , the pants ARE NOT , I dont think any sane woman would wear that and think she is sexy , the hair and make up are like madonna's "nothing reallly matters" video , but the presentation is just phenomenal, so it makes the clothes seem much better than they are ,as compared to when they are on the racks.

I really like everything that doesn't have velvet involved (seriously, what's with all the velvet this season? Unless you're five or an elf, you look completly rediculous).

What's with all the lack of evening wear? I know sportswear/daywear is Pilati's thing, but the occasional gown wouldn't kill him, would it?

Love the see-through blouses and some of the jackets - but that's about it.

Really, is anyone going to wear shimmery Hammer pants?

I love this! The clothes are incredibly strong, I can see many a powerful woman wearing the first few looks. Some of the simpler dresses, the half-ruffled, could totally work for day or night.

I also think this collection perfectly brought together all of Pilati's signatures in a nice way. Sharp, loose tailoring, lots of grey, strong contrast, great shoes...I love it all.

And even though the clothes didn't need to prove anything, I like the fun hair and makeup and the set. That's another stroke of Pilati's I like, his sense of humour.

Has the whole collection been posted? It doesn't seem like many looks.

Why is there no evening dresses.

Is this really YSL

Love this! Very Karftwerk! Some of it would be difficult to carry off, but the austerity is so cool. I've been wearing the 80s shaped pantsuits/jumpsuits for a while now, looser hips and tapered ankles, and I haven't gone back to the low-rise straight legged pants. It's really fresh for me even though it's not showing off the body, so yes, I'm already a convert to the new shape.
