Abercrombie & Fitch

The entire central atrium of my local mall smells of A&F, its most fragrant tenant. You can hear the store from miles away as well.

Haha good one! They play my friends music in there however, so she drags me in there....even though I get an instant headache from the scent...the teens continue to spray the stuff anyway....:yuk:

I like some of the clothes they have, but I just have one question: Does anyone know when the sales starts? (website..) Bummer if I order today, and the sale starts tomorrow, if you know what I mean.

^^ Oooh the sale starts in August. I think its the back-to-school one. And around before Christmas, there is a HUGE online AF one. :flower: Hope that helps.

Like most people here have already said, the music is incredibly loud and you can smell the store a mile away. I don't know how the sales associates manage to stay in that store for their entire shift.. I get a headache 5 minutes in!

This weekend at the mall I went into Abercrombie and was seriously freaked out by the overt ideal of ripped abs(hence the huge picture of very low riding pants on a guy ), lack of diversity and brainwashing techniques covered up by really loud music and clothes that always look the same even if you visit the store months apart. It felt like rather than just trying to sell clothes, they are trying to sell a lifestyle, one that is alarmingly far from tangible. I felt like if I stayed there long enough, something would attack my brain with those same wacky ideals all around the store in pictures.:ninja:

The same goes for Hollister, who keep their clothes in separate rooms and it is always way too dark and loud to move around or even tell what color something is. I also went into Guess yesterday, and although it is not much like those other stores, I thought it was really exaggerated to see that right by the entrance was a live DJ!!!! The guy had his own turn tables and everything!! I could not stop laughing

I was like :shock::blink::lol:

It's really popular where I live (San Fernando Valley.) I've always hated it, but I have to A&F's influence on youth is incredible.

I can't believe this but I actually have never gotten anything from them:wink:. They do have some cute things, but I just couldn't bear to deal with the stigma attached to the name.

Have you guys been to the New York store? At the front, there are always two gorgeous models standing there. One guy and one girl and they're posing and taking photos with shoppers and looking all pretty!

same in london! good reason to check out the store^_^

I just like the hoodies because they are so soft, but it is really hard to find one that doesn't say "Abercrombie and Fitch" in bold letters across the front of it. I hate that

Oh yeah! I walked past the one in San Francisco, and there was a shirtless guy standing out front. He looked kind of lonely though because he was by himself. It seemed really random.

my question is...why is the store always so dark? how can you shop in a cave??

This must be the only designer/collection thread with no pictures of the clothes.

After you've seen one Abercrombie shirt, hoodi, oxford, jean mini, and cami you've seen them all. And I am serious. My friend use to work there and I kept telling her " You have too much style to work in that place" eventually she quit.

i'll admit i was guilty of purchasing from here.
i hate how it is used for people that dress bad to still be "in style", if i must say, because i live in the suburbs and every kid has a piece of abercrombie in their closet. every season is just like that last. converting an article of clothing from abercrombie into one of hollister's can easily be done by replacing a moose with a seagull. every piece of clothing is reproduced by changing the color or font of the words "ABERCROMBIE". and eventually there is a stock pile of clothing in the back on sale so no one buys the items for full price.

well said.

it wouldn't be a problem to ditch A&F, but i gotta say, their cut on shirts is extremely sexy.
