great, great collection

Argh. Will have to wait for some months till fashionfile features this collection.

Lee Alexander McQueen if you can see this I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! :woot:

This collection is mind-blowing! I used to dislike ruffles, but after seeing this, I'm getting second thoughts. :) The shoes are incredibly sexy.

The Kate hologram in a pyramid (and a wonderful dress), what a fab idea...

Didn't really get what K. Moss is wearing... but then I guess this was not an issue...

I know once u go McQueen, you never go back...LOL that didnt even rhyme..

fantastic:heart:

i love how wearable it is but yet still a fashion show
the shoes are amazing too, the feather pumps are to die for

It really is the best he's done in ages, hope the same enrgy will go into his menswear as well. The knits and tweeds are incredible!

The question about who cares is of course the designer himself, whether he wants to be the one out front creating the wind and generating the buzz like Simons or whether he wants to be the one catering to his base. Somehow, I suspect that McQ's base, unlike say, Leonard or St John, are also trend-conscious and looking for new ideas and concepts which they will find in other contemporaries of McQ. I also tend to respect a designer more for pushing the envelope, rather than churning out the same old, even if he does it with great skill.n :)

So what you are saying, is that to create the winds the designer has to be "new"... I find this notion and fixation of the "new" a bit naive, both in fashion or any artform, because it's not so much the fact of being "new", it's more the creative energy and the events, which are generated, that I think, creates the winds... and pushes the envelope.. which is far from anything related to the concept of "being new"... And eventhough th wind McQ is generating might go in another direction, but what an hurricane it is.... here is to McQ for "daring" going this way....
For Simons or who ever is creating the buzz around, comes from the creative energy they generate, and not some ideal of "being new"....^_^

"At the end, though, the ecstatic applause was primarily in honor of the experience—a memory that will go down as one of fashion’s all-time highs."

Hmm...a very ambiguous review. A lot of description of what we can obviously see, stating what we already know (accomplished construction, impressive technical feats, romantic, period references, McQ going back to roots, getting rid of the bloody punk aspects, etc.) but the last statement gave it away - applause was *primarily* for the show experience. He's going the way of Galliano.

I think I agree with you:-)

It is a beautiful collection. He is going the couture road, spetacular shows and gowns gowns gowns. (it is since his ss06 coll. imo)

Everybody is kind of overwhelmed with the hologram show. Kate Moss has been dissapearing. Is it a metaphor?

Exquisite details :woot:
