just watched the nymag video..I'm glad that she wore sweatpants on the plane (I honestly can't imagine any other possible outfit when flying).. How does she earn so much money to afford such a lifestyle? Not even i-bankers can live up to such luxury and excess. Does the fashion industry really pay that much?

I know her editorial work may not pay much, but what about her brand consultancies? Those should carry a hefty fee... maybe she comes from money?

idk if she comes from money, but yes, she makes a huge amount of money from brand consulting. That's why she had to leave VI. Franca wouldn't allow it.

Living her lifestyle would 'only' require millionaire status.
She doesn't seem to splurge on vintage cars, art or large houses stuffed with servants so I have no trouble imagining her able to afford the best of high fashion.

Fashion consultancy pays a lot and I suspect she might come from money because she was featured in Italian Style, the book about the Italian upper-class sponsored by Tod's'.

she comes from money (she said that she had her first fur coat in her teens) and she has been consulting for decades. also she said that she does borrow some clothes although she doesn't like to.
