Issa Lish is mexican, why is she on this list?

Regardless of nationality, multi-ethnic models like Issa are still viewed as Asian, at least at large and in general.

Other examples include Kailey Hsu (American of Chinese and Hungarian ancestry), Tiana Tolstoi (French with Korean, Russian and Serbian heritage), Jessica Gomes (Australian of Chinese and Portugese descent), and Mae Mei Lapres (French born with Chinese and French-Canadian background) all remain more Asian-looking.


Of course we don't necessarily know these individuals personally identify as. One could guess but one thing is for sure, they and all of us are multifacted and are of many things.

Guess the world would like to simplify things and in this case, these models are Asian in the modelling industry (not technically but you get the point!). ^^

Does someone need to make an infographic of all VJ covers and send it to them, and ask for a honest reply regarding the lack of Japanese models/faces?

How many decade has it been. It has reach to the point that this just ain't gonna change soon. It's just like whatever now... While we can give them credit here and there, but realistically it's just messed up and I won't elaborate more when I say that.

But hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it... right?



Vogue Korea (well most of their fashion publications like W, Allure, etc.) is in the same boat. Yikes!


From what I have seen, China/Taiwan/India does it best all across the board and the same for men magazines, regarding covers. Consistently. Whether it's Actors/Celebs/Models.

Content-wise, it's mixed with a higher ratio of homegrown talents. That's admirable.

VJ/VK does have their own people in their fashion eds too. Covers?

Well I've actually met Issa and she identifies as mexican. And you can see it too, look for videos or interviews where she says she's mexican.
