Balenciaga S/S 2006 Paris

The grey 34 was just sent to me :buzz: Ground shipping from NY to Ohio... Should have it on Monday at the latest, possibly friday. Does UPS deliver on saturdays?

It's odd how the sizing is all over the place. I hope this one runs large. I'm also wondering by everyone seemed to order such a small amount? You'd think they know that they'd sell very well.

Not good news for me that the shoes are already arriving in paris. I wont have money until the middle of next month

Brian -- I love that little corset thing. It doesn't even look like it'd be too expensive either. I'm not usually the practical one, I like more fun things, but the top looks totally unwearable. Wouldn't look good with a bra or tank, so you could only wear it with a jacket that you wont take off. Or in the bedroom.

Sorry for the triple post

These are the two pairs I am deciding between. I kind of like the look of the first ones better, but I also feel that maybe I should get the most 'balenciaga' for the buck and the second ones are more unique.

^ I don't care for the T-strap ... prefer the ones above.

As far as the small order, it's pretty typical for designer stuff, one per size. Maybe someone like tricot could comment on what might trigger a bigger order than that ... I know some stores will order one per size + preorders.

I am sorry Kimair I am not sure. Everything was on still all downstairs and being unpacked from the cartons. The two pairs I tried were white with stones and white without. I know that the metallics definitely hadn't arrived yet but as for the beige colour I am clueless. I was told there's still a lot of the show stuff that has not yet arrived...

no problem grill...:flower:

gg...the ones i want are just like the first pair, but tan nubuck...i think they look less crazy...know what i mean?

i'm afraid they're going to be impossibly high...i have a pair of wedge ankle boots from last season, and they are 4.5", but they feel lower because of the wedge...

congrats on your jacket, btw...:woot:

I have been gone for a few days and it seems like I have missed so much on this thread!

GG- I say go with the first pair. Both scream Balenciaga, and I think you will get more wear out of the first pair...the second are almost too much. Oh, and congrats on your jacket, be sure to post pics ASAP. :)

Caffeine- Sorry about your jacket mishap. I hope it all works out.

Thanks for all the shoes votes. First it is! :) I'm short, so I've leanred to walk in high heels.

ta-ta -- Can they really keep the stores stocked this way? It seems a lot is sold before it hits the floor, and if they only buy a few of the rest of the pieces I cnt imagine they have a good selection in the stores. Do departement stores only usually buy one in each size as well?

^congrats, GG!
mine should arrive tomorrow. If it doesn't fit by a lot, I will wait to see how yours fits.:)
Did they say how long it takes? it's overnight to Boston, so maybe yours is overnight as well?

Regarding the shoes: either pair is fine:) were they collaborated by PIERRE HARDY and Balenciaga? Look at that pair:http://www.aloharag.com/highseas/assets/images/english/store/women/ph/shoes/1574/1574.htm
(i hate the colors)
I also vaguely recall that he designed shoes for Balenciaga...i might be wrong though...

Those pierre hardy shoes do look a lot like the second balenciagas, but way worse. Balenciaga seems to have a very specific look with their shoes, I always love them all.

I actually saw that jacket in a Vogue paris editorial as well and will post a pic. It's really gorgeous. And the shoes too  I am getting the red ones..

another editorial look..the details looks so amazing :woot:

Pastry -- The ones with the stones are 3,650. The ones without range from $800 to $1500. The magazines say the ones I want are $900, but they are so often wrong so I'm not sure. I think mine will be around $1200. I'm having a hard time deciding between 2 pairs, I'll post pics as soon as I get home.

HOLY MOLY!!!:ninja:

wow. thanks. i love the dresses and the whiteness of it all.

pierre hardy designs the shoes for balenciaga.
i'm not entirely sure why this season he chose to do shoes that are so similar for both his own label and balenciaga... seems a bit odd to me... one idea i had was that pierre designed them for his own label first, and nicolas saw them and went "THOSE are the balenciaga shoes! i must have those for this collection!"
.... it's not improbable...

I got the jacket - the anthracite one which fit like a dream. I am so pleased, as nothing else - none of the cheaper versions touched it for looks or fit. I am going to see if my husband will take some photos for you to see. No more jackets for me this season!!! I've already bought 3 and I really need stuff to go underneath them, and shoes, plus I've got a wedding to go to at the end of June. Anyone know when the sales start in the US?? Hopefully, I can pick something up for the wedding in the sales...I'll post pics of the jacket when I can.
