Thanks for all the shoes votes. First it is! :) I'm short, so I've leanred to walk in high heels.

ta-ta -- Can they really keep the stores stocked this way? It seems a lot is sold before it hits the floor, and if they only buy a few of the rest of the pieces I cnt imagine they have a good selection in the stores. Do departement stores only usually buy one in each size as well?

Pretty much ... I know how Nordstrom Collectors does it ... when Marc Jacobs comes in they devote a big central section to it, and then it pretty much all sells off except for a few pieces no one liked, and by that time they've moved it off to a corner where it can barely be found and something else has taken center stage ...

Due to my shopping patterns though--I don't spend a tremendous amount of time shopping and my shopping is focused around spring and fall, twice a year--I don't really know how stores handle this, except with a continual stream of shipments.

I'm sure there are plenty of others who are knowledgeable enough to comment though ;)

sorry for the inconvenience for you. I was debating on that but decided to make this thread more continuous...so I posted here. I do think that, at least, the detail pics are valuable for this thread. Your call though :flower:

you're right - i agree that detail images are fine to post - so we laypeople can see up close what the real thing looks like ;)

go ahead and repost the details but please remember that we have the shopaholics thread for a reason. this goes for everyone :flower:

I'll do it (I saved the pictures). ;)

I was wondering, how true to life is the color? It seems more purple than blue to me, but it may be my monitor settings or the camera flash.

it's like standard navy but in silk, so when the flash was on, it looked very blue-ish and purple-ish. I'll post some pics taken in day time over the weekend :flower:

I just noticed that the cut of the all grey jacket and the paisley is different, I much pref. the cut of the paisley, it goes out under the buttons, and the collar is so sharp.

While the dark grey got the pocket though that the paisley don't.

I wish they had made it in the same cut.

I just saw Grill's jacket, it's stunning!!!! Will you wear it as an everyday jacket or is the silk really shiny? Is it lined?

:flower:

Hi PucciMama - in photos the silk looks a lot more shiny than in real life which is a good thing as I prefer it more mat looking. I plan to wear my jacket everyday with jeans it suits my lifestyle like that. Only the arms are lined - I think this is because of they want to keep the second-skin characteristics of the fit..

it's almost like a test - comparing the two similar jackets and summarize the difference  yeah I was doing that, too. The paisley jacket has pockets, too. But it does not have the buttons on the pockets.
It's interesting. I bet the fit of teh grey jacket looks slightly different, probaby due to the lack of lining on body. It looks more fitted on the body than the paisley jacket which is fully lined. how interesting!

Grill, you can pm me, but how much does the grey jacket cost? my SA told me that it's about the same as the paisley one, but I was also told at the trunk show that the grey jacket was about 1/3 less expensive. I'm so confused, or there are two different grey silk jackets?

If it really is 1/3 of the price of the paisley jacket, thats really a great price considering it's balenciaga.

Hi guys - I paid 1625E for my jacket which is the same price as some of the paisley jackets. That said there are quite a few versions of the paisley jacket some of which have more detail - such as yours and the one with the ruffled fronts. Just for comparison, the striped blazer from the runway was priced at 2125 E approx...less than was originally quoted. Note, the US prices are always going to be higher than in the country of origin, in this instance France, due to the cost of importing the garments, etc...

I can't wait to see your jacket GuessGirl - it's different from Caffeine's too isn't it apart from the fact that it is grey...?

Actually it should be exactly the same as far as I know, except grey paisley. They told me it's the one in look #10 :)
