Caroline of Monaco

^ She is older and has a small child maybe it's harder then she thinks. She had the Casiraghi trio very young. Maybe it's catching up to her. Here's hoping for some great new candids.

I think she looks quite nice in the white jeans shot.

My own view is, just because the poor woman is a princess doesn't mean she ought to have to dress to the nines to drive her kid to ballet class or whatever ... I don't expect to look fabulous every time I leave the house, and I don't think she should have to either. The paparazzi & others' expectations shouldn't run her life ... that wouldn't be very elegant.

I don't think she needs to be dressed to the nines either when she goes out but the problem I have is when she wore that tacky looking Chanel, wannabe, pants suit to an event a couple weeks ago. That outfit would have been more suited for a clown rather than a princess, I mean what was she thinking???
And on top of that it looked like she didn't have her hair or makeup done properly, it's always the same old blow dry shoulder length, stringy bob.
It's like she's trying to be trendy rather than wear what suits her. You wouldn't see that horrible pants suit on any other royal, that's for sure. I also have not been wowed by her recent Rose Ball gowns. That's why I say I wish she would care more...it seems like she doesn't anymore.:(

As I recall she has alopecia and at one point had lost enough hair that she was wearing scarves. So the fact that she has recovered to the point that she's been able to lose the scarves is a real achievement.

^ I'm glad she has too, but how about cutting the frayed ends, giving it a bit of volume and smoothing it out? I think all she would need is it styled properly. And to get rid of the bangs if she is going to have to bob, she shouldn't do both. That's all I'm saying...as for the clothes....well I just don't know what she's thinking anymore. Maybe she should distance herself from Chanel for a while.

All I'm saying is ... what about some much-needed compassion in this thread :flower:

If you're lucky, you'll live long enough that your hair and skin aren't all they once were ... and that will happen even if you stay out of the sun, don't smoke, and don't drink. When that happens, you will want people to love you anyway ... and that holds true no matter how many people know or don't know your name.

Compassion? I never once called her ugly or revolting which I don't think she is at all. I just think a few minor touches to her hair, makeup, wardrobe etc. would help her greatly seeing as she is a "princess." I'm sorry but I hold royalty to a much higher standard, I'm sure most people do, because if we didn't then why would we have them? We're suppose to trust that they know what they're doing....would you want a President or head of state that wore some rather unsavory clothing? No one would take them seriously. You can't say that this doesn't matter, it's the same as dressing up for a job interview you want to put your best foot forward, I just don't understand why members of royalty should be any different? Do they get some free pass that I haven't heard of?
As I said before, I'm glad she has her hair back, good for her, now let's try to do something with it that will enhance her features more. I don't find anything wrong with that.

^ I agree. Good for her that she has come out of her trails and tribulations with grace and ease and health. But it still doesn't excuse her fugly dress and her ratty hair.

Well of course 'we' don't have royalty in this country, thanks to George Washington having very strong and clear ideas about not being made a king substitute, but many European countries still do, and I would imagine there are many reasons why.

In the case of Monaco, the royal family brings the tiny country attention and cachet that money alone couldn't buy. I'm not sure what their role in governing the country is, but most royals don't do much more than cut ribbons and issue statements.

While it's true that dressing well for an interview is important, it's not the key factor in decision making--not in my decision making anyway, and I hope the same is true for the vast majority of others. And it certainly isn't an accurate indicator of competence.

I can think of at least one President we've had who sometimes wore 'unsavory' clothing, and IMO it was by far not his biggest flaw.

Now I can see that the people of Monaco have a right to judge whether their royal family is serving them in a way that ultimately benefits the country. And I would hope that candids of Princess Caroline are not a key factor in such a decision making process.

To me the issue is not her having a free pass, it's more being confused what concern it is of anyone not a citizen of Monaco what Caroline is wearing or how her hair looks when she leaves the house casually.

Maybe we have gotten off track here but I'm just stating my opinion of how she dresses. I would hope that just because she has a disease that we are still allowed to state our opinions in this thread about her clothes, hair, makeup etc. whether it be bad or good. Or whether we are a citizen of Monaco or not. Also, although she is royal, she is never off duty, just like a celebrity is never off duty. So I don't think it is fair to only be able to judge what Caroline wears when she is "on." As being a public figure and only doing ribbon cuttings, presenting awards and generally representing the country, I guess I except them to dress with some degree of class, a good example is Queen Rania or Princess Letizia imo. But I guess we will agree to disagree on Caroline.

But back on topic, I like this flower dress and the sunglasses in the new photo. It's cute for spring. But I don't like she shoes or necklace.
