I feel compassion for her ... it's a terrible thing not to know in the very core of your being that you deserve better than this. And that you should never love anyone else more than you love yourself.
And yet you will not feel compassionate for Chris when he hits her again.
It could be argued that Chris is a victim too: of his upbringing, of his testosterone, of his distorted sense of worth (abusers don't really love themselves either).
Why condemn him with such harsh words and give Rihanna a free pass?
She was innocent when she got first hit but not when she returned to the scene of the crime and became an enabler. She is now full part of the abusive system, oxytocin or not.
Yes, Chris needs therapy to treat his obvious psychological troubles but so does Rihanna and so far there is no indication she is taking any step.
There is enough studies, testimonies, information and help out there for her to be able to take her destiny into her own hands if that ever was her intention, and unlike many women trapped in abusive situations she had the finantial back-up and public support to help her cope.
I know the process is long and arduous but she isn't even
trying. At least Chris is taking anger management classes (though I'm sure he didn't sign up on his own)...
It would just be hypocritical of me to write the things I wrote about Chris and continue to support Rihanna and her equally appalling and irresponsible behavior.
And as I have said ... being dumb has nothing to do with it.
You don't have to be dumb to do daft things. Her behavior is abysmally stupid.
