UNiQ, if there's any chance that you become violently ill around July second, I would be happy to attend the show in place of you.

And where'd the inspiration news come from? It does sound kind of exciting!

LoL you know what... i'm just kidding with u guys.....too curious to see your reactions..

We don't want might. We want can.
And I would love if John approached it in the way of Greco-Romano style. It's something he has not really touched ever!

Well, for his summer 99 ready to wear show he celebrated Nijinsky´s 100 birth with and ode to dancers (models were dancing among the audience) and at the end he showed a few roman inspired tunics and hairdos, and at Givenchy he had some roman influences for his couture shows even before, but it has been almost a decade from it, so it could be a very interesting idea, as long as he doens´t splat blood from dead soldiers on the silk dresses.

The submarine idea was quite nice, I had to admit that I wanted to see that idea portrayed in what turned to be Marie antoinette´s beheadedness, for summer 2006, but I still agree with previous post, I wish it was more perverse and sexual, like he´s latest ready to wear show, which are some times an indication of what will happen next.

^ Since the first post I knew you were kidding, mostly because you didn´t posted any reliable source...

But since that was one of the emerging trends this comming fall.

but anyway i wish to see sequined gowns with mermaid tails inside...to cheesy though

Aww I go to Versailles + Paris on Monday! but I'm in London during the show, I hope my internet connection works on the night of the show...

Why the supers? Yes they were/are great but doing shows today? Chanel ss 05 rtw and Dior fw05 hc are enough. Having them sitting in the front row would be a lot more appropriate and appreciated. I can't believe it's 2007 and people havent yet moved on. I know it might well be a retrospective collection but what we need is something now and new. And we have so many new girls around who could be as great as the supermodels as long as we want them to be.

Agree!

With no reliable source...I had a hunch you were kidding us! Well, anyway, it would have been cool!

...what if it ended up that that really was the inspiration of the show!!! You'd be psychic, Ghost!!!!

actuallly , it's very strange

in 2005, i used a lot of tulle for my art fashion assignment and the next season, the Dior dead mother collection come out all with tulles
then, this year whenever i'm pooping in the toilet, i always entertained myself by folding the toilet papers into different shapes, imagining them becoming dresses. then 1 month later, the japanese collection come out with all foldings and origamis. In fact, the square boxes on the first red "new look" jacket of the collection is exactly same as the ones i did in the toilet. i was then imagining to put those on the chest, something like organza blouses from teddy boy collection..lol

^Oh dear, you must be soalmates with a transbody connection via the loo :o

ok...too much info, there, Ghost!!:lol::lol:

The only time something like that has happened to me was I had designed a slip dress that had the Japanese wave woodcut print around the bottom of the dress and then it popped up in Dior Haute Couture SS 07 on a coat!

It happened to me the time I made Gladiator Helmets (which is something I always like making) and they turned up at FWHC 06!

I havent guessed any Dior collection themes yet :(

There should be a game to guess the theme

I hope he does something really raw and strong, perhaps a bit of tribalism subverted through a really polished lense. I'm not talking his folksy, Eastern Eropean cross culture studies....I want to see something African maybe. Dark, noble and pure, almost scary (as in all the pagan ceremonial tradition) but really beautiful.

That's just me projecting.
