Gemma looks so WOW !
but it's like a bunch of lesbians debut-de-siècle having fun... meeting each other in some travestites bars etc. discovering exotic things...
now that you mention it...
Gorgeous dresses, some chic tailored pieces (that smoking on Celia!!!) but that's kind of it.
By Galliano standards it's downright boring. I know there's nothing fundamentally wrong with creating beautiful pieces without a whole backstory, but that just does not work for John Galliano. He's better than that.
For years people wanted wearable, this is what you get. Immediately wearable, beautifully designed clothes, minus any sense of magic.
In a way it reminds me of his early rtw for Dior in terms of the clothes. But it lacks any of the irreverence or sophistication. Too much boring color and leopard print and when you take it out of the context of a smoke filled parlor with models cavorting on a chaise, it just seems less special.

What a bore...I too miss the old days of Galliano for Dior. The silhouette, the saturated hues, the music, and most importantly the story each and every piece told. The magic that once was is slowly fading and I'm sad to see it go.
