Christian Siriano F/W 09.10 New York

This is all over the place. That last bunch of looks is just...bad. Christian made great TV and does have potential, he just isn't at collection level yet.

there are a lot of marc jacobs references here.

the shoes are going to be part of his payless collection. i only like the strappy ridiculously high heels.

Damn he has nice stuff.

I would so wear the first two dresses, jacket and suit.

He has a really heavy hand and his clothes look overdone.I think he just needs to mature and let his aesthetic. He just needs to strip away all that damn wanna be Mcqueen showmanship. That and his collection feels like alot of references rolled up in one. It's not good when that is noticable

what throws me most is the hair...lol

i love Christian to death, but...i'm not really keen on this. nothing flows at all...there're some pieces that i like, but as a whole, it's just not...good.

Are you kidding me pal???:sick::sick: what's the hell with the fringes on models' forehead?????????

I don't get anything out of these clothes.
No originality, quality, emotion... nothing.

it does seem a little bit all over the place, but he's defenitly causing a buzz around and maybe he's playing it safe...

Lol, how long is he going to do the same sh** over and over for?

As once said by Siriano this is God awful hideous.

This is just bad...hate how the models were styled...
I don't like any of the individual pieces from this collection even.

Are all those shoes from his Payless line?

Wow the comments here are not holding anything back. I've seen worse collections at NYFW and this is one is alright. Doesn't stand out as being particularly good or bad.

I wouldn't say he designs clothes so much as he upholsters them.

I think people were so wowed by his technique because in the context of a Project Runway challenge what he was able to do was impressive. But the quality of design during a project runway challenge and during NYFW is entirely different, and when you hold this stuff up to lines like Calvin, Donna and Marc the flaws become apparent. Granted he's at a different level then they are, but designers like Rodarte and Jonathan Saunders who are also working on a smaller scale still manage to execute their designs very well. Besides, no one told him to show at fashion week at such a young age, so really there isn't any excuse for sending sloppy pieces down a runway.

That taupey gown is a mess, as is the short brown draped one. The pieces that don't look bulky or messy are just nothing impressive. And I still think he has an awful eye for color/creating a palette.

here you go again, reading my mind. And enough with the mcQueen s**t already, Christian!!

Zac Posen better watch out, someone is trying to steal his place at NYFW.

How can even he find money to do the collection? Did his previous collections sell?

i thought you got a hundred thousands dollars to start a line when you won project runway?
