I have a rather sentimental attachment to all sort of scraps of paper, movie ticket stubs, museum stubs, restaurant cards from vacations....I'm curious as to what others do with them.

I finally did something about my pages ripped out of magazines - a lookbook for me and the home, plus files for potential purchases for each and for potential beauty purchases.

For books I tend to keep/buy art books (heavy, but what can you do??) but I try to get rid of novels that I won't read again or may read, but will probably have a new translation out by the time I read them. I have certain authors that I just have to keep around and I also like poetry, so those books stay. When I read something light like the Narnia books or Harry Potter they get donated to my library, along with Dvds that I haven't watched in a year. I've also started using the library more and that cuts back on clutter coming into my home.

I toss unflattering photos of myself. And for the kitchen I'm pretty good about getting rid of unused appliances, um George Forman grill, bread machine....

For clothing I finally got rid of about 1/2 of what I haven't worn in a year, but I'm having a hard time letting go of the rest. Sort of the in case I lose weight issue, and in this case its more like in case I lose weight and can fit into this amazing McQueen skirt. Shoes I finally tossed anything that really hurt to wear (in the toes).

My problem areas are scraps of paper, books, and clothes.

I'm really good about not buying/keeping too many Dvds, magazines, or kitchen items.

In my big clutter-clearing extravaganza, I've been tossing them all in the recycling bin. I found ticket stubs from concerts I went to in the early 80s

), promptly shredded it without reading it, and took the whole mess out to the recycling cart. I am constantly amazed by the horrible detritus I find lingering around my house ... what the h*ll was I thinking to keep this stuff
