But if she's wearing it to fit in with the anglomania theme, she's got it a bit wrong because plaid/tartan is Scottish not English.

Offended Scottish person alert! Anglomania includes all of Britian. So Scotland , Wales , Northern Ireland and England are all included. Even Gilbrater ( sic? ) is included.

Sorry to be pernickety but it's annoying that people think the UK is all about England.

Olsens, Lohan, Lopez, Beckham, Barrymore... what a trashy team. Sounds and look terrible.
And Charlize Theron... Too much of everything... as usual.

I know what you mean. But thats what I was saying before when Chanel/Karl Lagerfeld was honored a few years back and not as many people wore Chanel like you would expect. Many celebs just went there in w/e the think looks best b/c they know its a highly publicized event. I def. wish more celebs paid attn to the themes and dressed more 'costumey'. Next year right

Exactly, the Chanel exhibition would be the perfect excuse to acquire vintage Chanel, right?

I do understand that with all the media and people like us watching , celebrities don't always want to take the chance to be ridiculed. I applaud people like SJP and DVF for being costumey! But why wear Ralph Lauren or Calvin Klein to an Anglomania event when you could wear classic Paul Smith or Burberry. There are other British designers!

Yeah, I figure the year I get invited the theme will be "Menswear of the Appalachian" or something like that!

I have wondered just how much one one has to contribute to the Met to get invited. I would really like to attend sometime.
