EdK they still got the eye cashmere sweater at our local DH retailer. It's around £250.

Hi Faust,

As far as I can remember, it's only in 2002-3 a/w (Reflection) and 2003 s/s (Follow Me) that the denim items were totally manufactured in Japan. The ones in the subsequent seasons, except the signature black distressed jeans with washed whiskers, are made in Italy. Though not that apparent, the craftmanship seems to be have deteriorated since 2003 s/s.

Raimund

Hi, Raimund.

Are you positive about that? I have jeans from the Luster collection (blue distressed), and from Strip (raw denim), they all say made in Japan and are excellent quality.

BTW, Raimund as in Raimund from the MSN Dior Homme board?

It seems like the peacock tee is the most sought after item from s/s2005. Sz M was sold out in Dior Homme Omotesando when I was in Tokyo about 2 weeks ago. In Hong Kong, it is also sold out in Joyce Central.

Really? Ah crap. It was one item (the green one i already tried in Harrods) i was hoping to nab the next time i went back home to London.

Faust, Yes he is :flower:

Hi Albert,

The peacock tee seems to have been sold out in the UK as well, as reported by a friend of mine.

On top of the peacock and turnable, there's also one with a walkman (resembling the very first one by Sony), a microphone and another a group of speakers. Frankly to say, I can't see how special such designs are, except the fabric being mercerised cotton. You may also be astonished later when you see the accompanying silver (or silver-coated) brooches in the shape of a walkman, a microphone, a turnable, a guitar and a miniature sneaker , if you're not too much taken aback by the skull-filled necklaces and bracelets. There'll also be a lot in silver, black and colour beads, round and elongated, with the silver and black ones mainly round.

As given in the catalogue in a grey-product importer, there're a LOT of sneaker styles, nearing 20 in total with most inspired by Converse's, high and low-rise ones. The pointed "D" belts, in black and brown leather, coated red, orange, pink, blue canvas, with silver or brass buckle, may be the relatively more interesting item. They cost about USD240. A variety of canvas belt in horizontal stripes (about USD200) are also available. A variation to the pointed "D" leather belt, another with a leather buckle in the shape of deformed guitar and another with a rectangular silver buckle, of which the fastening is a smaller rectangle at the far-end, are also available.

Most of the leatherware will be of the "Dior Classic", "Black Monogram" or "Dior Travel" series, but a limited supply in "Plisse Dior" and "Dior Black Leather". Schade! :(

Raimund

Hi Raimund!

Well, at least the prices have gone down. Mercerized cotton sounds like it could potentially be better than the mediocre quality of the tees from VotC, but I haven't seen any of the designs in person. I think a lot of the "object" tees and accessories really cheapen the brand image. There are way of sticking with a rocker style look without looking like Chrome Hearts or other crap like that.

In terms of the grunge/rock look, I really felt that VotC was about as far as Hedi should have taken the styling. Any more than that and it just starts to look more sloppy to me than anything else.

Hopefully I'll be picking up that peacock tee!

The sweater is definitely mohair, not cashmere.

Wow sucks to hear the peacock tee is sold out so fast...I actually wanted to pick one up even if the shirt was a bit thin. Those walkman/ipod t-shirts are terrible though.

It also sucks to hear the denim isn't being made in Japan anymore...raimund when you mentioned the signature black whiskered jeans, are you talking about these?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=52794&item=6735538050&rd=1

If so, I wonder if they're ever going to be on sale...at the DH boutique in NYC they're still $500, and now that you mention it i kind of suspect this pair will never go on sale.

Bluefly has 2 pairs in but none of them my size.

I totally agree with all of this. If it goes any further, DH is going down the crapper.

Is there a reason why you dial 011? If not, try to skip that and/or try 0045 as the country code instead of +45.

The store is closed for today, btw, as it’s almost 10 PM here.

i think the code for leaving the US is 011, i tried 00 it gives me a error thanks though.

Raimund is right. I just looked at the tag on my orange overdyed jeans from VotC and lo and behold. "fabrique en italie" is there, quite close to the hemline on the tag. Too bad really... at least my black and blue distressed jeans are japanese made.

What is going on? Is the era of Dior Homme coming to an end???

It certainly looks that way to me. Unless this next collection drastically turns things around, which I'm really hoping for. But I'm very doubtful.:(

No, 011 is for leaving Europe. 0 is for leaving the US.

Thank you, LVMH.

I see. Here we just dial the code of the country we call to…

Btw I just checked the number and I didn’t get an error. As expected nobody answered the call though as the store is closed, but the number seems to work fine.

Wow the more I think about this quote the more i think it's correct. I'm noticing more and more items are becoming assembly line pieces. Looks like I jumped on the bandwagon too late since I don't even know where to find items from seasons from Strip and before anymore :(

Ah well, it was fun while it lasted. The glory period of Dior Homme will always remain one of my favorite brands. Or at least the period of Dior Homme whose clothes I acquired :D

You can find quite a few pieces on Ebay.

I think it's to premature to proclaim death to Dior Homme. Hedi is clearly a talented designer, and after all aren't we looking at a designer and not the label he designs for? If LVMH puts too much pressure on him, he can go elsewhere.

Anyone have pics of that horrible sounding walkman/ipod shirt?

Well said, I hadn't thought about that. It's just the current direction Dior Homme is going seems to have less and less input from Hedi and more from the corporation.

the turntables shirt:

This is NOT what I expect from Hedi (or should I say Dior Homme since I have a feeling the product manager designed this). This is something I'd expect to find on Haight St. for $22.
