Dior Homme by Hedi Slimane (2000-2007)

I always question sellers who don't actually provide a photo of the item... it seems like shady business to me.

Yeah, rarely would I considering chancing hundreds of dollars on an auction with stock pictures.

Albert, love the blue sweatshirt. Never seen the item in that color before. I had the yellow version for a while, but it was pretty ridiculous, so I sold it. I'd totally take the blue color, though. Mmmmm...

Thanks guys! Yeah I scored the blue hoodie during the sale at the end of Luster from Jeffrey NY. Last one they had. I was making all sorts of phone calls all around the nation trying to find the neon hoodies. Apparently they hung around for quite some time. The blue seemed to have sold out everywhere (or not stocked) except for at Jeffrey's and their full price was $750!!!! Crazy.

That is just crazy.. i wish i were into DH a couple of years ago...

Lamb skin jacket just listed is great. Too bad the sleeves were shortened so much. The sleeves are supposed to be long, and probably they were 27 inches orginally. 24? Well, someone with short arms is going to end up getting this one for a bargain.

quick question I'm sure someone can answer thoroughly:

What're the major differences between Dior Monsieur and Dior Homme? Hedi Slimane does Dior Homme, then who does Dior Monsieur? The Monsieur label has been around longer...?

I'm just asking because I have a vintage Dior Monsieur suit from around the 70s or 80s that my dad handed down to me. I was hoping to pick up some background info. Thanks!

Dior Monsieur doesn't exist as a label any more...ever since Hedi Slimane became creative director at Dior menswear starting the fall/winter 2001-02 season, the Dior Homme label was formed and that's what the menswear division has been referred to as since then.

I think Dior Monsieur stuff throughout the 80's and 90's was produced all over the place, Christian Dior himself might have been involved in the earliest stages, i'm not too clear on the details.

Wow if that is a fake it's a scary thought...fake dior homme starting to look like real now.

So much for Hedi's collection inspired by Argentina...

hey, i noticed Andy_R's browsing this thread! Andy if you see this, just wondering out of curiosity: Do you wear any Dior Homme yourself? :D

I'm afraid that fake Dior Homme has hit. I was on canal street the other day and I saw some awful fakes. There may have been more, but I saw several different types of shoes (even one I didn't know existed, with a bee print all over), the S/S thin striped polos (in black/white and a funky navy/black), unusual colored "the end" shirts, several keychains and the chalk striped tees. The quality was obviously no where near the Dior Homme we know, but it didn't seem that awful compared to the other fake goods.

I ended up calling the Vegas store and ordering the Green "Hearts" P.D. tee in XS since I didn't find it in the NYC boutique. Now what I'm really looking for is the black tie with gold sparkles... anyone know where to find one?

Really?! I actually want to see these just out of sheer curiosity. Fake "the end" shirts eh? That's pretty hilarious.

I'm really surprised that the chalk tee and striped polo were faked seeing that they don't really scream Dior Homme.

yeah it doesn't scream Dior Homme, but that's an accessible DH piece that is still visible and recognizable in the community of candid celeb photos...dude from kings of leon wore that for the rolling stone shoot, and i'm sure i've seen it in a few other high profile shoots/places.

Just in case there are any rough-and-tough Canal Sellers browsing the forum (hah!), I should probably say that because there wasn't an amazing abundance, they could be stolen. I only saw about 25 of each top, and maybe 20 max. of each type of shoe. The tops all came in a plastic bag with the word "Dior" written on it in black, and they had the silver necktag and two silver "swingtags". There were a few loose shirts but I did not bother to look on the inside. Shoes came in a white box w/ silver text, and the shoes inside the box were on top of a grey dustbag. The quality of the tops didn't seem nice, but then again the only reason I say that I'm "positive" they were fake is because of the colors. If they are fake and not stolen, I bet that they were actually made earlier this year for the Spring/Summer collection, because it seems unusual to fake them now considering all of the more recognizable items like you said, whereas the S/S season had tees with music equipment on it. I know that if I were to fake DH, I'd probably just make a bunch of the VOTC "D" tees.

I really regret not asking the guy more about them, but then again I doubt he'd be too keen on telling me how he acquired the goods =p

Check it out, could be an actual instance of fake Dior Homme!

The zipper pulls don't look like any I've seen before. And they aren't stamped with Dior Homme

http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/80348598

Who woulda thought!

I'm almost 100% certain that's not a fake, i recall seeing those zipper pulls on some light outerwear during Luster (knits etc, as per the link). In fact the exact same zipper pulls on the auction are used on the pocket/neck/elbow zips of the Napoleon.

All the Lampo zips (the actual teeth & zip base) and zip pulls during Luster were black anyhow, the shiny silver zips and with stamped silver zipper pulls were only introduced afterwards.

The only things from Luster which were stamped with 'Dior Homme' would have been the metal clasps clamped onto the waxed pull string that were attached to main zip pulls on larger outerwear pieces.

Hope this helps, and great collection. B)

Edit: What i will add is that as far as 'fake' Dior Homme if you will, if concerned, there are plain long sleeve tees (white, black, grey) on Yahoo Japan with the DH bee embroidered (albeit badly) being passed off as DH lookalikes.
