Dior Homme - Runway

^I agree. Bad accessories. And it's not that the belts really bother me that much, but they're SOOOOOOOOOOOO overpriced. They look like okay generic crap, not $300-400 belts.

There was this belt i saw from the current season...it was a really thin belt made of what i assume to be canvas, it's got some multi colored stripes or something like that and it looks cheap as hell...now THAT belt is on some Abercrombie tip...if I remember correctly I think I saw that belt actually being paired with some A&F jeans in last month's Details too

the signature "D" belt of this season i'm not a fan of either, I personally like my belts to be more quiet and that "D" is a bit flashy for Dior Homme.

Fade to Black, I actually prefer the ladies'/Galliano belt, is it too loud for you?

Well, one of my personal rules of style is that as a man I would never wear womens' clothing, but regardless of sex yes that belt is too loud.

That's heigh of CACK!

Big CD so everybody knows it's Christian Dior. Flashy. Tacky. Expensive..yet cheap..

The only thing whether clothes are for a woman or for a man is a tag inside. The average dior homme mannequin can probably fit into any 'lady's' clothes. Look at Comme des garcons homme plus, so many women wore it that its recognised as a unisex line, and there are special pinklabelled commes des garcons homme plus tops specially for the ladies, although it doesn't stop some guys. BTW I am not interested in wearing women's clothing lol, neither am I interested in cross dressing

I really don't see what the big deal is. If clothes look good on somebody, who cares what they're labeled as? If you see the most beautiful belt in the world, I think it's idiotic to pass it up because it comes from the women's section. But whatever...

Well it's not even that...I just don't like the idea of wearing clothes with a uniquely feminine edge to it, it's not my personality, and that belt is an example...also include women's jeans in the list of things I wouldn't wear.

To be honest it's not just women's clothes, certain looks from the likes of Dior Homme that strike me as too feminine for my own style I wouldn't wear either.

Oh, and you guys are gonna bash me for this, but I never got into Ann D either...I know a lot of her clothes are not necessarily "women's" but more unisex, kind of androgynous that could be found in the women's section but worn on a man...I wouldn't wear it, not knocking people that do but i just don't like that kind of style. At least from what i've seen here most of it hasn't appealed to me.

FADE TO BLACK...PLEASE DO NOT RE-POST IMAGES WHEN YOU REPLY TO A POST!!!...
I HAVE POSTED THIS OVER AND OVER...PLEASE PEOPLE...!!!
it makes the boards run slower to have all these images posted over and over...especially one right after the other...if it's form another page i can see why you might do it...but this is not the case...i have asked nicely and reminded enough times now...

please follow the guidelines which are posted in about 20 places on this forum...

haha WOW...free speech doesn't even exist on the internet anymore. How many signs of the apocalypse were there again?

apparently you do not care if the board runs quickly and smoothly for all our members...only about yourself...it is my job to look out for everyone...i remember a time here at tfs when members actually cared about this place and one another...

i wouldn't have to keep posting the same thing over and over and i wouldn't have to edit if people simply followed the guidelines...which are set up in EVERYONE's best interest...and apply to ALL members... ;)

Sorry Matt, but asking you not to repost pictures is not interfering with your free speech, is it? You're not being censored. I don't understand...

LOL actually it seems like the Dior Homme models from the earlier seasons look more healthy...if you want to see pale frail and malnourished peep S/S 05. Some of those jeans make the models' legs look so skinny it's scary.
I thought I was only one here who thinks that.

yes, but he'd never make such trash on his own.

No one actually knows this since hes still working for LVMH :innocent:

Its an effective enough strategy for getting more sales.

^ Oh really? Just look at the stuff we know for sure he designed and you'd know it's just not possible..:yuk:

Well, im not referring completely to the over-logoed stuff, there are other kind of bland looking dior accesories he has designed too.

And accessory sales are a very important source of revenue.

That's what ticks me off. Carol Christian Poell doesn't design his accesories to make money. I would despise Hedi with body and soul if all he cared about were sales and important sources of revenue. Why don't I? Because I see him as an artist and not as a businessman.

I thought you weren't into commercialization, raijin..

I don't think his accesories are at all bland, but the ones on eLUXURY are. Those things aren't really Hedi. Plus..everyone one wonders why eLUXURY has such an awful selection...well..LVMH owns it.

i kinda disagree, the reason hedi slimane is where he is now is because he is also a very clever businessman. everything he does promotes him as this glorious artist, which in turn trickles down to promote dh's brand image. And he does it fully aware of the impact that it is going to have on people's perception of the brand. Dont get me wrong, Im not putting the guy down here......i think that he is a great photographer and brilliant creative director but when you choose to work for such a massive corporation you unfortunately expect that kinda crap to come out....esp when you take one look at the women's side of the company.

Further to that, if he really was against all these pieces wouldn't you rather leave and start your own thing? At the end of the day im sure that monthly download into his bank account is what makes it difficult to leave. Albeit there are some nice pieces in ranges but alot of them are really vintage pieces with improvements to fit and fabrication, and all too often they are very overpriced for what they are.

And i really believe that he is not intensely involved in the actual designing of the clothes, and more involved with the creative direction of the brand. So im sure that he didnt design that hidious bee wallet 'thing'. At the same time though i don think that dh accessories are anything special.....i saw a suede leather bag that was just exactly the same as a military side bag, and they wanted 750 pounds for it?!? WTF?

He himself says Dior Homme is a relatively small label, much smaller than Dior, and all the other major labels and that's what he likes about it.

He also built it from the ground up, starting with the atelier.
