Dolce & Gabbana F/W 12.13 Milan

i actually quite like most things about this. but it is getting so repetitive. i like it better than when they did all white, or the black and red, but they really need to step out of their comfort zones. all these body suits etc must be big sellers (/big on the covers of magazines)

Was the collection all that Italian, and if so is it the Italian segment that Dolce and Gabbana typically leverages? Other than O Sole Mio blaring, the overall vibe seemed more Swiss-German-Austrian to me, or just ubiquitously European regal / opulent. If the collection theme is considered Italian, then it is of the more Alpine / Northern Italian variety and not the Sicilian / Mediterranean vibe that is typically associated with Dolce and Gabbana.

ETA:
Of course there were some looks that were built on the Sicilian / Mediterranean "chassis" like the corsetted body suits, but that is now a Dolce and Gabbana signature and variations of signature looks / silhouettes are to be expected.

I completely agree. Yes, there are elements carried over, but that's the Dolce and Gabbana DNA and at least to me the collection looks different from their previous ones.

Can I just say that I quite like this collection. At any rates, it's their best one since S/S 2010. The problem is that I don't think they can win. When they were doing the massive paint dresses for S/S 2008 and big shouldered Asian-influenced pieces for S/S 2009, people complained that that wasn't the DNA of D&G. Yet now they do more Italian-themed collections and everyone hates them.

The problem is also that the whole Dolce aesthetic is very much intertwined with the cultural and economic values of the early 2000s, so I guess in this age of austerity they are stuck. I wish they would wake up and take risks again because these 70 look mega-shows are becoming like a broken record.

It looks like Moschino. The Italian version. HAHA..

Dolce & Gabbana is getting quite tiring to look at. At least when D&G was around it was always interesting even if at times it was a bit tacky.

At first glance of the collection was quite boring yet again but after saw the detail photo every single pieces looked stunning, all the detail and all was exquisite.

I hope it's not the practice for them to open the couture line, but I couldn't really think of one reason they have to stick on the idea of selling good fabrics instead of fresh designs.

I don't understand why people are so frustrated with their design aesthetic as of late. Sure, this isn't their most innovative or original collection, but it is a superb one nonetheless. All those lace pieces and the embroidery - all those fabrics and textures - beautiful.

I appreciate their sensibility as of late in terms of resisting the fast-paced nature of fashion. They don't need to design for the approval of critics or editors or the internet for that matter. They design beautiful pieces for women and that is all that really matters.

Besides, these pieces will look incredible in reality and will never date. There is a timeless quality about this collection which is quite interesting. I'm truly impressed this season!

 It seems that they use the same idea everytime. It is quite boring.Nevertheless, the flora embroideries are amazing indeed!

Unexpected collection, in bad way. I agree that collection didn't show us something new, which is little disappointment. Was a little strange to see such a collection, because they promised to focus all their creativity to this collection. I'm little bit tired by Dolce&Gabanna lace and the same shapes every season, hope something like "wow" for next season. But collection finale was amazing, full of energy and I think showed us the power of gold.

I am totally IN LOVE with this collection !!!!!! Love it !!!!!!!!!!!

THanks God, there are still designers that love and respect everything related with their origins and country. All the gowns are wonderful, the embroideries, the lace pieces, the accesories. I feel so tired of minimalistic fashion that I feel very grateful to Dolce & Gabbana for their great work.

I love all this opulence and luxurious stuff !!! BRAVO DOLCE & GABBANA!!! KEEP THIS GREAT WORK !!!!!!

I think it's a stunning collection, beautiful details. And a lot of the pieces I would personally wear. Although waaaaayy too much lace. Lace is just, over tbh..
