The overly religious theme is tacky at best. It's such a literal take on it.

I think these clothes, while essentially the same as everything else they've done in recent memory, touch more on the couture side than anything they've ever done. No doubt it's an extension of their couture line. So I do find them exquisite and I find myself liking this collection a lot. It's just...I dunno if I (if I were a woman) would wear a dress with Byzantine mosaic imagery on them...or why anyone would.

At least they're moving, albeit at snail pace, toward something a little fresher. Hopefully the next collection won't be a complete retreat to the usual.

i actually like the grey and black pieces the most, the embroided crown-looks are so heavy and let's be honest, i wouldn't want to wear a wall of mosaic on me..

Actually, my favorite part of this collection was the outfits with religious iconography. While the Byzantine theme may have been quite literal it was so beautifully done that I don't mind. And would someone fetch me one of the crowns from the collection? They are just heavenly!

The pieces that remind me of stained glass... pretty and intricate at first and then repetitive.
The collection as a whole is stunning but they need a huge pump of inspiration. This is the same we have been seeing the past several seasons and to stick to just one theme and not deviate plus produce a TON of it starts to degrade the lovliness.

I love it! even though its repetitive, I have a soft spot for D&G. The jewelry and make up is really pretty. I especially like the crowns and the shoes. The religious iconography and the Byzantine theme are some of my favorite aspects.
